Now, personally, I've got to say that I've found this last week incredibly interesting.
I joined epvp... well, I'm not exactly sure when... but, it was a while ago. I've mostly lurked in the shadows; leeching from the epvp lifestream like so many others here. Throughout my time here, I watched the birth of CO2, the temporary disabling of many of epvp's most historical hacks, (Multiclient, partner, and cotobo). However, when CO2 released... everyone knew instinctively that it was but a minor setback. Someone, somewhere, would fix... everything. And they did. For which we all, I'm sure, thank everyone involved.
Now, however... patch 4331 sits like a dark cloud on the horizon. We've been told straight up that CoToBo is not being updated. And it's been rumored and speculated that perhaps Partner wont be updated either. Aimbot and speedhack I've not heard much about... though, in my opinion, the loss of aimbot in particular is a good thing. Though, thats just my personal opinion. I'm not saying people are noobs for using it... I just think that in gws, you shouldn't. Anyhow, thats a different topic entirely, and I'll get back to my point.
Patch 4331. Argumentatively a patch to dwarf the culling effects of even CO2. And... I find it ironic that as we stand here, pre-4331, we now witness a true divide amongst the classes of Epvp. On one side, we have those pvps savvy in programing and the like. On the other side, we have people like me who, for most of their epvp time, have lurked and leeched silently.
Now, while I - and I'm sure many others - are going to dread the upcoming loss of partner and tobo, I do find it interesting how some of us leechers have taken the news of the loss. I've noticed that some of us have begun to express a want to learn.
Therefore, I come to my true point. For those of us willing, and able, to learn how to become an active contributer to these forums... Where do we start? Sure, there are tutorials and such... but its all (for me) a very confusing jumble of information. Where would someone with (basically) no programming knowledge start? Is there... some kind of... "Mentor" program in place? And, if not, would someone out there with the knowledge be willing to take people on, and show them the ropes? Its easy for you all to say "I hate you noobs crowding our forums and leeching our hard work." but if you're not willing to help a person change, then you're just as much of a detriment to the forums as those you would wish gone.
Thanks for taking the time to read, and reply, for those of you that do.

^^ I try my best not to waste time asking questions that I've seen repeated over and over. And yes, I too will look forward to the replies this may bring about. Even if it doesn't help me at all... It may be a step in a new direction for epvp. I, personally, would love a mentor program, much as I doubt that it would ever come about.
Even so, I believe it would be easy enough to do. With a few smart people, and some spare time... and something like mIRC... you could quite easily spread a lot of knowledge very quickly. Even if it was simply an hour a day that you take to learn a bit from one of the more tech savvy people here... it would be a beginning, and it would effectively end the dispute about leechers. With the mentor program in place, it *could* effectively replace Epvp's 'open door' policy. Changing it to: 'If you're not here to contribute, or at least learn, then you're not here at all.' As someone else said on this forum... when you sign up for an account there could be a simple set of questions which would either get you accepted, or not. And, it wouldn't be hard to set up another area for noobs to learn... where you could easily track who is posting and contributing, and who is not. Therefore effectively and cleanly culling the ranks of those people who are simply here for an easy and quick fix.
Anyhow, again, this is just my two cents. Personally, I think it would be a good idea, so now... I leave it to the Epvp community to think on.
Again, thanks for reading, and replying.

if this get succes, and some ppl start educating newcomers, will be new era for hacking scene..because new ppl bring new ideas..new ideas make outstanding hacks, just give time..and you ( everyone ) will see that educating ppl here is best idea in years

Again, I agree. It would require a lot of effort on both sides of the fence, as it were. Those pvps with the knowledge would have to be willing to share it, and willing to take the time out of their days to help us through the steps to becoming someone worthy of being a member of epvp. At the same time, it falls upon those learning to do the best they can with the time and knowledge given to them. We must learn both on our own, and with the group/mentor whenever we get the chance. We're behind, and it would take some catchup to get everything in a working, efficient order, but it COULD be done, if there were those people out there willing to do it.

it takes alot time from both sides..but look at the reward...many many more pro coders and epvpers making better and better hacks..and then the new ones could educate new ones too..its a circle..you do good for all, and the purpose what you are doing good for, gets ***** slapped upwards ^^

My point exactly sir ^^
With a growing population of people learning and being taught the basics at least, you give a person a foothold to vault themselves upwards. And you can be damned sure, that if a person gets a hand from someone here, they will - when they're able - turn around and help someone ELSE up that ladder.
It would turn Epvp into a self-sufficient society. You bring in new people, new ideas, and you grant them time out of your day to teach them what you know. Karma is more than just a rating system on a forum. What goes around comes around.

Thanks very much.
And, as for it actually happening... I too am not entirely sure on the probability of it. But, it is a beginning. After all, what better place than *here* to begin something like this? What better time than *now* to get the thought out there?
I'm not about to claim that this was solely my idea, as I'm merely saying what I believe many others have said many times - there is a willingness to learn. So why not take that will, and shape it into something useful?
Epvp is known for it's programmers, and its ingenuity. Therefore, even if this idea doesn't get implemented now, it already HAS set people to thinking. And that, in and of itself, is half the battle. I think, that eventually, the idea will catch. With enough support, and enough volunteers... it could be done. Perhaps not easily, but... just think of the repercussions it could potentially cause...
It's been proven time and again that a pooling of knowledge often yields the best results in any given field. Why not here as well? All it takes is for one knowledgeable person to say: "Hey, I'm available at (this) time on (this) day, and (this) is what I know and could teach."
One person, could very well start an avalanche. And again, it would effectively END the leeching on the forums. Therefore killing two very large birds with one relatively small stone.
At the very least, this IS an idea to chew on, is it not? Perhaps we won't see it this month, or maybe even next month... but with enough people thinking on it... something is bound to click, sooner or later.
However, I now take my leave from the forums until this evening when I get home from work. I will be interested in seeing the progress of this topic in the interim.

i have read the whole thread, and COMPLETLY agree with it.
im not a good programmer... actually i just started with learning it a few hours ago but if the good programmers here help the ones not so good at it, there will be more programmers and less leechers.
Also, this means less noobs keep asking for things but ppl actually go try to make it themselves. (also one of the reasons i started)
so if there are any good programmers reading this thread, please help us at learning to program
(i started learning C#, someone told me this is the best to start with because most programmes are writting in C++ where C# is the basic from )

@Shadow - You have managed to put my brain on a piece of paper, better than I can think it ... have the little number under your name change from 2 to 3 (+k) just for your piece of mind.
This is what I was trying to say, except I over exaggerated the solution a bit too much, by saying that we should have a new forum.
But anyways, I feel that if someone would help us leechers to get a foot in the door, so to speak, it would be amazing. I personally find the idea of learning a code both interesting, and a valued trait for a job.
Also, in the neo-golden age of epvpers that you speak of, leeching will still occur, because everyone will be leeching everyone else, but everyone will be creating new stuff, so it wont be leeching effectively, other than just sharing.
I hope that made sense lmao
WJ64
EDIT: mentor system?
My idea:
Remove FTP from Epvpers, replace it with .txt documents on how to make it, or the source code to mod it yourself.

i think a new forum section or maybe a link to an external forum about his could be very usefull!
because people can make threads about what they want to know
1 thread about it would be annoying because of certain ppl want to know certain things and they need to search a whole thread for the answer and their questions are missed more easily
but like i said... could be an external forum also
if there's enough interest i could make one but i dont care if some1 else would make it... though we would need good mods at it for sure (not ppl just deleting or moving when not needed or misusing their powers) and not too much
