The problem is your internet connection. Satellite has major latency. The throughput is often decent, but you have to realize that even internet connections must obey the laws of physics. This means that the signal must travel through space (a certainly noisy medium) be received at the satellite, filtered then retransmitted to a ground station. Also, these satellites are not a mere few miles above earth. They are in geosynchronous orbit: 22,241 miles above earth. While radio waves are fast, 22k miles is still a long way to go and it takes time. Think about the latency you get from a server on the other side of the world: that's only 13k miles max. Satellite has to travel 4x this far at very minimum. In the end, you'll never get low ping from satellite and you'll have to live with that. I highly doubt that a speed hack would help much at all.
