in the beginning there was a secure way to make socks - simply by editing certain npc. hint hint: you needed a db to make soc.
hoever afaik (and i tested, yes) this is not possible any more
i sent more detailed desc to Lwf and we'll see what comes out of this.
one more thing for you to toy with:
if you use coproxy (or some similar thingie, but coproxy does the work for you) you can get met "id" (hint hint: right click). observe those.
i think some mets upgrade some things while other upgrade other things. but this is just my guess. i noticed that on eternity for example it is impossible to get mets to upgrade hats from metzone and mets for armor frmo skypass. mets from lab seems to work nicely on weps rings bags and neckys. i'm talking about upgrading 90+ items with +3 or more here. perhaps similar is true for socking. but i don't know.

Well I tested the BI guy packets, the only packets you get from him are ones saying, which option you picked in the NPC dialog. Now I am 6.6 mill less then what I had before and I got a 1 soc level 35 bow XD Well here is the packets I got.
Also with the extra DB I had for trying to socket necky here is the packet of it failing to super in twin *item ID removed for security of my main account *

The +'s dont make any difference when upgrading it could be a +1 or a +7 wouldnt make a difference, it's the lvl and quality of item that matters
Oh ic..so you couldnt see anything of importance in the packets?
Do another socket..say before you tried boots, this time try...a necky or maybe a refined item, then get the packets and paste them here, maybe I can see something.
