temporary conquer disconnection due to internet loss

whne i browse a website that is dead/down, it takes really long time for firefox to say the site is down. because of this, i lose internet and co disconnects. few seconds later, i can connect co again.

it is like firefox forces to connect to the site but it is down.

how to avoid this?

is there anything i can do in software ie ff or modem.

didnt happen in the past. matter of fact i up my net speed 30pct.

my modem broke and was replaced, then this started happening.

It sounds like a problem you should talk to your ISP (internet service provider) about. If they replaced your modem, and for some reason it can't handle standard amounts of data, it might be a problem with your modem or connection. It would help if we knew what speed you're expecting from your provider and what you're actually getting.
