Formula for Steeds Please

What is the accurate formula for steed breeding (the 0.9+0.1 rough estimate isnt gonna cut it for rare steeds).
Dont need a calculator either

12 saddles = +1

3 +1s = +2

3 +2s = +3
9 +2s = +3

3 +3s = +4

Its cheaper to buy +1s than to buy +3s

i meant combining two different colors together and finding out the resultant RGB value
