ping quality?:P you mean to have less than 100 ping i think right? maybe getting a good optic fiber internet conection.

Satelite internet gives one of the worst pings imaginable.

Instead of going across a country your information has to go to space and back for each packet being sent/received.


There is no way to improve ping reliably. You could of course limit network use (you, other people on your Internet connection downloading information/torrenting) but there's no real way to improve your ping past playing servers near your location (IE: playing American servers from eu or vice versa)

Another factor to consider with bad pings, especially at peak times surprisingly has nothing to do with TQ directly. I recently had (and am still having) this issue with my ISP. It's called Traffic Shaping. It is a system run by most ISPs to reduce the volume of P2P traffic during heavy usage times by delaying responsses and TCP packets being sent to their customers. Unfortunately for the CO community, the CO protocol looks to the Traffic Shaping DPA like encrypted P2P traffic, especially with 2 or more clients logged in. My ISP is BT internet in the UK, and after a lot of complaints have still not got it resolved. It's mainly because the protocol is SSL encrypted so I'm told.

I am currently looking into prosecuting BT for denial of service. As the definition of a DoS seems to fit this situation. "To deliberately deprive a person of a service or services they would normally expect to have".

I was recently informed that the lag problems that aren't related to ISP's should be fixed at some point today, by way of "increasing net allowance", whatever that means. Fingers crossed TQ's red hot programmers can fix something first time.
