Ok, does anyone know if item drops are determined by your IP address? If so, how would you go about changing it?
Seriously, I play on my pc, I get ****, my boyfriend plays on his- DB drops like every other week!
If there was IP related drops; what would they do? Go through and decide every single possible IP and be like
"OK That IP is going to have good drops"
"Fine- OMG THAT IP IS GOING TO SUCK!! MUAHAHA"
plus there is tons and tons of IPs...

Well, random numbers in computing are all based on initial numbers, generally this is time but there is no reason why all or part of an IP address could not be used in this calculation, for example:
'IP = 217.18.23.117
Dim Calc as Integer 'This will be a whole number
Calc = 217 * 23 / TimeGetTime - (117 / 18) = x
If Calc = x then
'Drop DB
Else if Calc > x
'DropCrap
Else if Calc = y
'Drop Random super
Endif
'ETC
However no same person would use this to generate random numbers on a mass scale.

well i think you are huting on the wrong spot try birds with a 120+ archer before i was 120 always bad drops now im lvl 125 archer-trojan-archer and im getting more then 4 dbs in a month+many super and + drops and afcourse im farming accounts ^^ (water farming)
its all determined by random... but.. i have noticed, about lvl 80 to 110 archers hunting by themselves gets a lot of mets and supers.. i've made 10 archers (lvl 120) and they all got good stuff about those lvls... also.. stated before by someone, there is not such thing as a random number on a computer. The computer just picks from a list of seeds that are determined by variables such as time.. also, if tq used ips, there is 4,228,250,625 possible ips in IPv4, which is the current world standard.. so tq would have fun going through tons of ips. Even if they just filtered it by the ones that connect to their server, i know at least 100 people in my city that play conquer.. plus theres most of brazil...
Even if they just filtered it by the ones that connect to their server.
But they wouldn't have to, if the IP was used dynamicly (ip xyz connected, then store + use it) in a calculation such as drop rate. As I said in an earlier post though I think it's very unlikely they would do so.
The calculation could be based on anything at all involving numbers, could involve anything from the usual suspect, time to the number of characters in your name or even the ascii values of characters in the name used, there are just too many possible solutions to guess, the only way any one will EVER find out is by viewing the source code

I agree with your whole post. However, with certain calculations you can get pretty close to random.
Something I need to address 08/30/2010 - S4 League - 0 Replies I've noticed that hackers are very dedicated to creating hacks for the community, and they do it because it's a hobby, and to help others have fun doing things they're otherwise unable to do.
However, I feel that it's not right to make the more powerful hacks directly available to the public. I know that there are hackers who don't want their programs abused. But by only requiring registration to the site, absolutely anyone can abuse these. I don't THINK the hackers who made these programs...
