Need some help, making a private server!

Okay, so I thought I'd try to make a private server, but the thing is:
Conquer won't accept 127.0.0.1 as IP and it refuses to connect to localhost, the only thing left for me to try is have the server on a remote computer, but I have no remote computer (that's not in my home/LAN).

And that's about how far I've got. I think I'm going to try to make a proxy and let one of my friends run it (then make the client connect to his IP, then connecting to the server)

What are your thoughts? If you've got any help for me, be sure to post it!

make sure ur ports R Open Then Just Check ur firewall Is it on or off After u do those things and fw will be off and ports will be open u will be able if u cant do simpole guide how to make server u wont be able to admin it as simple is that

Most likely, if you are using a public source, you will need to put your IP in, not localhost. However, I don't know where you are typing that in at... The server.dat? PGAdmin? the config.ini?

Read my post more thoroughly and you'll see what I need help with.

Try using your WAN IP address rather than localhost. You should be able to connect using it.

Good point, but I've got pretty much enough skills (at least I like to think I do).

You could use *M*'s loader temporarily if you're attempting to make this private server for clients before patch 5021 (or whichever changed and broke everything).

Secondly, you don't happen to have a copy of it (*M*'s loader) since he removed it and uploaded his sources instead (dunno what the difference is between 0.1 and 0.4, since he doesn't state it)?
