Hello,
best language would be German for me, but English is also fine.
I choosed/chose C# , I wanna learn how do my own stuff (not bots, macros, hacks etc).
Just normal little programms that help to make my day like programms to annoy some friends and stuff like that.
Im really intrested in this Stuff, but ive to say that Ive never tried it yet.
So I hope your Tutorial is going to be great .
Have fun & Good luck .
What language would you like to learn?
This is perhaps not the best question to ask someone who has no knowledge on the subject. It's really dependent on what you want to code. I think you need people to answer question 3 first, then you can advise them on programming languages which are suitable for the task. For example
Hooking/Trainer creation/Memory editing.
Reccomended languages: C, C++, Delphi, ASM.
Capable low level interaction with the OS, can use the Windows API directly and already have available libraries.
Other languages: VB, C#, Python etc. Are capable of calling Windows API functions, but not the best tool for the job.
Avoid: Java.
It's incapable of the above. (Well, can be done, but you'd be off your trolley if you decided it'd be a good idea to try)
Perhaps a good place to start while people decide what they want to learn is to teach concepts that are essential for gamehacking without regard for programming language. The conversion of decimal/hex/binary, integer types, endianness, boolean logic, data structures etc. Although just spilling it out in paragraphs ot text is a tried-and-failed method. Give a practical example in the form of a random/binary file which one can open up in a hex editor, and be asked to describe it's binary structure using a guide you've written. While you're at it, you could have the beginner programmers create an application that will take the same binary file and read it using their language of choice.

I totally agree. But as to your second paragraph, I don't think people should start on stuff like C++ because it is difficult. Maybe start with something easier like C# or maybe even AutoIt. The capibility isn't always the whole thing.
Ive always wanted to learn a programming language. But I have always found online tutorials inadequate and frustrating in explaining the functions and nature of programming languages logically.
I don't want to JUST learn how to code, I want to learn how the language works, how the fundamentals work, and what purpose each little thing serves.
No tutorial has given me that so far. Im excited by your prospects though.

I started with C++. Personally i feel that it is best to compliment your programming studies with theories. I do feel that if one wants to move on to do better in future, it's good to take up a powerful(difficulty doesnt matter) language.
For example, i can occasionally help friends with their vb codes even though i have never used it.
I am still a noob, still recapping a lot of the basics and trying to learn more.

I want to learn something about all these 03/26/2008 - General Gaming Discussion - 1 Replies Hello guys, I both play games properly and I cheat in some games, but as I shall tell you, those were extremly easy hacks or ones I downloaded from the internet.
The most succeseful hack I have done was some scripts for Crysis muty player a few months ago, I had the best cheating scrips ever that no one else can match. But it was easy and it was booring, since I know nothing about how coding and development of a software works.
I am looking for someone that can ass me on my MSN and teach me...
