Game recording Issue! (Question)

Hey guys,

I have a problem when trying to record Conquer Online... I have tryed both Fraps V3.2.7 (Full version) and the Wegame Client to record Conquer and both knock my FPS down to 2FPS, Obviously there is no point at recording at that quality and its a little weird as i can record World of Warcraft at Ulta Settings at around 40FPS, so is there anything i can do stop this drop??

I have already tried reducing recording quality and removing the sound and that didnt work.

Laptop Specs:

Intel 2 Duo Core Processor (2.2Ghz)
Nvidia Geforce GT240M
4GB RAM
320GB HDD

Problem Fixed! - If anyone has the same problem as me, get Camstudio or Camtasia! Thanks to Pro4Never for finding the solution and Demon17 for all his help!

2.1 Intel Dual
ATI M R HD 45xx series (512mb )
4GB Ram
320 GB HDD

Try to use xFire You need to register in xFire.com
You need to download , instal and login ,
You attach the game, aplication what you want
You run from the xFire
and you can sellect Quality of Videos .

After you REC you can upload directly w/out needing to go site
It automaticaly resize the Video and upload it

Hmm, ok ive tried that and i got better FPS (sound good right?) but only by 3FPS which is still only 5 Frames per second overall... hardly fast enough.. have you got any other ideas?

that didn't work either :s i have no idea why its doing this... i mean my system should be able to handle it... maybe its to do with the coding of CO? but then again i don't see how it could be... and ive seen other people record with no problems at all...

You are asigne the Co to the Xfire? I meant TO start Co from Xfire ..
Maybe your Vcard not support the 100fps // At how many FPS it still stay ?

I forget to tell but Co Client has an average of 40 fps so you need to get a multiclient which will unlock the fps till 100

The Xfire checks what is the FPS of game which screen you wana record so it will use the Co's average FPS .. for me is 30-40

ok so i downloaded the Multiclient here and ive installed it correctly, but how do i unlock the fps?

make a Backup of your original Conquer.exe ( save ite somewhere in desktop) and after that add the multy one have funn :P

Maybe your Laptop , Windows (OS) has problems , It happens for me that while i wasn't instaled the compatible Vcard Driver :P

I don't think it is my OS that has a problem, like i said on my first post, i can record WoW at 40FPS at ultra settings, i can also record minecraft and Gunz: The Dual with no problems... it seems to only be CO that wont let me record..

However i am currently installing new drivers to check.

I apologise for the double post - Ive updated my drivers, but to no avail... i guess im just not going to be able to record CO :/ Ill gave you a thanks anyway for all your help :-) if you have any other suggestions feel free to post them :-)

I've always used cam studio. It's never seriously impacted my fps and it creates great quality videos.

Old raw recording I made. It's not been compressed or edited using anything.

Note: It's not full screen cause cam studio lets you select the section of screen to record so I just recorded center of the screen to get details I wanted.

Edited videos using cam studio recording (just so you see quality doesn't degrade too much if you use windows movie maker or w/e on them)

So yah. Cam studio works nicely

Dude, you awesome! Cam Studio worked very well, although it was a little choppy, so i started thinking of some more high end recording software which works in the same way and i came across Camtasia Studio and its PERFECT Your amazing ^-^ Thankyou very much!

Fraps and other Direct3D/OpenGL video capture programs don't work very well with conquer.
