anyone know what colours EXCEPT black are used to indicate transparency?
err.. white i think. i came across an edited dds which used white as transparency. it worked so iunno i guess you can give it a try. and thanks for asking around for me. could you possibly PM me once you find out? thanks.
no problem, and ive tried white, black, blue, and enything else i find that works, ive got a kickass portal mod but i need to fix the transparency. and all the guides i find are no help, they all go on about photoshop c2, and i have elements 4.0 (getting c2 for free soon =D)
EDIT:
I DID IT!!!!one11!2 =D
no word on the glow yet tho, BUT i made a red portal xD looks teh ***
Originally posted by fullmetalferret@Sep 16 2006, 10:03 i think we need to try get a new dedicated section for "cosmetic mods" stuff that just looks pretty
heres my red portal, another animated image, just cos i can make it like that xD
ive even added a sorta EULA type thing dedicating the mod to e*PvP and CC =D
omg how the heck did you make it animated?! teach blz mast0r~!
They take the image from the file exit.dds and spin it, lol
Or if you mean the image i stuck on, hammer f12 to take a bunch of screen shots, goto the screenshot folder and open up the relevant images in something like photoshop, layer all the images so theyre all on top of eachother, then go file>save for web> and make it save as a .GIF file, and click the animate checkbox, you may want to crop the image after youve layered it to save heaps of space
and for frame delay (botton right for me) set it to somewhere between 0 and .2 if you want a fast moving animation
heh, I've read up on how to edit the files n stuff, instead of just waiting for someone to edit the 130 bow for me <.<
I'm having big difficulties finding the correct dds file to edit though, it's not in the **** "bow" folder.. -.-
(found that out by editing every single file in that folder to a diff color) -_____-;
So, if anyone knows where to find the lvl 130 bow effect file, I'd be glad if they could share the directory and number of the file

lol oh. i know how to make animated gifs though ^^ any luck with the weapon glows?
I have a question, is it possible to edit a weapon thats not a 120+sword/club/blade to have that trail effect while it moves, like a glaive thats 115 super or something like that, and also is it possible to make it where theres that fiery effect like when you swing a 115 super sword and add that to other weapons, weird question i know lol.
*EDIT* OH i forgot sweet portal btw, what files would i need to back up for that if i were to ever switch back though.
*EDIT, AGAIN* Doh. it says it in the installation nevermind xD dont i feel stupid
