The auth response packet I posted in the packet wiki thread but not sure if it made it on the actual site yet and the spawn char packet was different. Similar but there were some changes post 5250+. Used it as reference + my own logged packets to do this (I forget if I ever actually finished structuring it in this version... most were right though)
Indeed, i need to update, waiting for a decent version to create a new big bulk deposit of packets.
You should check the database. If you changed the database a little, the server will crash and close without warning when trying to login. Make sure that your cq_user file matches up with your cq_user table! =]
Epvpers doesn't allow binary files but the database is allowed. If you can't find any here though you could always use 4botters. To be honest though... the source only really loads npcs and characters from that. you could easily write your own database.
