Database storage is 1000x better than Flat-files in every way, evar.
Database queries are very fast compared to flat-file storage,
Database storage takes up WAY less space then flat-file storage,
Need to change things? Using a database would takes seconds, using flat-file would take a long *** time.
Ugh I could go on forever!
Use a *** damned database!

lol say im trying to store the value '5', i only need to store it at save time, i do not need to access it at any other point, except at load time, does it really make sense to use up all those extra resources having a separate database process running?

Database is good with a high amount of data. Try searching each player for a specific item in their inventory, when theres 200k users with flat-file, compared to sql.

Hi.Also ich muss jetzt neue dsl machen weil ich umziehe auf neue wohnung,da ich hab kein bog mehr 70 euro für t online ausgeben suche ich etwas was würde mir zusammen kosten bis 55 euro pro month.
Ich habe gesehen bei arcor.de dass die haben so einen tarif wo dsl 6000+telefon flat.Ich habe nur nicht verstanden ob ich noch für andere anschluße bezahlen muss,z.B wie T com oder so was.Kann mir jemand links auf günstige angebote senden.
Danke.Aber alles muss nicht mehr als 55 euro pro monath...
