[Question] View quality and bonus level of items on the ground

I just saw that if I credit for the first time, I could view quality and bonus lvl of the items on the ground. I'm wondering how TQ does this, they send more packets or all the settings are stored in the client? I just saw that {Angelius} modifyed the client, so any who used his version could saw the items quality, but not the bonus level. Other people for exampled modyfied the item data file, but this worked for weapons only. Could anyone explain how this can be done?
