Basically you're asking where people find the 'codes' to write a program? They just exist. Knowing how to use them properly is the key to success I guess.

You create your own codes using the API's available for the certain languages.

Everything that exists in the language was written by someone else... just like how in the english language all the words were made up by someone else.
Your job as a programmer is to pick the correct 'words' that express what it is you want to have happen to the computer.
In SOME cases you might want to take 'words' others have written that explains better then you can what it is you want to have happen but in general you should be writing it all yourself.
Note: C# has a large amount of libraries of existing code which you use as a programmer almost without thinking about it (any extra references you add to the program say to handle database access)

Start with the very basic and then in the end you will learn more advanced things. Remember it takes years to get good at it.

I wouldn't go so far as to say years unless you're talking about completely mastering a language (not something that really ever happens.. always new tricks to learn really).
I'd again think of it like learning a language.
With children you don't start them off by having them learn to write an essay (a complex program). You start them off by learning the alphabet and basic words (data types, operators, conditionals, etc).
To learn programming properly you NEED to start with the basics and get a firm grasp of what it is you are doing before you move on to more complex stuff.
As for where to learn... Your first language is obviously not english (not an issue) so I'd suggest looking up programming tutorials/books in your native language. It will make it MUCH easier for you to understand and learn that way. It's in english but microsoft has a HUGE amount of resources when it comes to C# which can be found on their msdn website.

As I said there are tons of resources to learn programming all over the net. As for math, logic is more important (breaking complex tasks into their most basic functions and often applying true/false conditions to this data.) But yes math is definitely involved in programming. Generally its basic math though. Most complex would be deriving simple algebraic formulas to describe what you want to have happen (ie movement to new location in a bot or damage calcs in a server)

[Help] Which programming language
08/02/2011 - General Coding - 5 Replies
Hi guys,
So I'm looking for a new programming language to start learning but can't decide which one to pick...
I want to be able to eventually write server applications using that language (game servers/ emulators) so I know something like VB ain't gonna do the job.
I've looked at C/C++ which obviously would be best choices due to sheer power I'd get however learning and developing curve seems to be too long D:
Also I don't really like languages with dependencies like the whole .NET...

Hi, I haven't connected to elitepvpers for a time, and now I have some free time so I wolud like to learn something. In my university i've learn C and basics of assembler, but I see the better programing languages you recomend to make some bots/hacks are C++,Java....
My question is if I know C already it woul be better to leran C++ or Java which is better to make hacks/bots not only for this game.
Thanks
