You don't need to modify the client to change the ip..
just change inet_addr using a loader to this:

MOV EAX, 16777343
RETN 4

or hook inet_addr/connect

Oh ***.. how hard can it be to bypass server.dat?
I guess i'm trying in vain.
Oh well, change the ip in ConquerS.dat to your server ip, use ConquerLoader.exe to load up conquer with this ip.
Extract in co folder, works with any co client version.

Just a note before anyone says it doesn't work, check your server group, this bypasses ips not ports.
Some server groups use 9959 as a login port, others use 9958, Constellations group for ex. uses 9959.
