This is my opinion about "What makes a server good" (I also try to reach this for mine server)

24/7 Host time

Guarantee that you won't stop in less that three months

Friendly Staff

Nearly Bugless source (may only contain small bugs)

Good Server not one you found for 20 bucks on E-Bay, also you better don't use your main pc if you want to do things on it like Visual Studios or Photoshop.

You better don't use hamachi because pretty much people are too lame to install it or just don't know how to.

How to earn more people

Have a good eying/looking website
Have a good promotion video
Post a thread at the P server promotion section
and for some more PM me

I'd say a proper dedicated staff. Code could be **** but once people notice a friendly nice staff and community, I'd say they stick around for awhile.

No Towers or Fans, a good staff, 24/7 Up Time with very little down time,

*Nice mob spawn rate
*Suitable items drop rate (not too much and not too less)
*Friendly and helpful GMs/PMs
*New class skills which can make the PKing interesting

Those are what I can think of now.

I wont play a private server to level.
Thats why real co is there :P
A private dosn't even have much more quicker leveling, since it takes nothing to get lv137 2nd rb in real co.
About 1month.
and dont even have to geek 24/7
