Discussion regarding donating on Private Servers

Here is a small example i took from "DemonCO | Conquer Online Private Server".

VIP Package (lvl 150,1mil cps,50 attb point,user[VIP] ) / $30
100 Attribute Points / $10
Normal Gold Cup / $30
2 Socket +12 Gold Cup / $60

1 Million CPS / $10
2 Socket +12 Garment / $50

I just don't get it why people bother asking money for virtual pixels like TQ on a private server in the way of "Donating".
In my opinion i find it highly pathetic and rude.
Maybe that's just me and knowing how the old servers were ran in the time i was very active with private servers.

What is your opinion?

Server costs? There are some costs yes. Why not let people who play the game donate for keeping the server online. Not for privileges.
Staff rewards? In the few years that i've been around it was ran by volunteers who enjoyed the game, community and more. They want money now for moderating a forum or logging in every day and answer a few questions? lol
Domain costs? Domains cost nothing these days. You must be really poor not to afford a domain.

Not people who are into this make-quick-money-scheme.

there is still no need to let people pay so much money for a server must be running. around $ 3-15 per month is of course not!

I, personally would donate $10 a month without any hard feelings to a server ran by professional staff.
What's $10 a month? Visit Burger King 1 time less a month? Eat less chips? Don't buy drugs for 1 day?
Talking about the "typical generation of youth and their money" now.

New generation "coders".
1. Download source.
2. set up server etc. etc.
3. Create a website, a forum, a "chatbox".
4. Cash time.

Oh my ***. That's pretty much the rudest and lamest thing i have so far seen in 2010.
I still find both not cheap but that's just me. Well cheap, i think they should be deleted from ElitePVPers or any wise community. (Not bashing ElitePVPers before people start to cry)
Boycot any server giving out privileges for donating.
If people really enjoy a server and-or community they will donate no matter what to keep their server running.

I would love to see that.

Like us? Help us here(this link goes to coding so they can help code the server, ideas and such) or you can even donate here(donatinon)

Don't say if you donate i give you this, don't say you have to donate to keep server up, and never say donate because staff needs money.. your staff doesn't need anything, instead of playing on the computer they can go out and get a real job.

If some one trys to take cash, and they aint worth it, they will lose players, and it will suck even more, however if the server is pro, adding a few donation items aint bad.

It shouldn't be that when you donate for a service you are using to get a privilege from it. It's just wrong in my opinion.
If people do wanna make some money by giving out privileges i'd say give out custom garments ingame.
Outside of the game give them a "Donater" status on forums to be recognized that they are helping to keep the server online.
Not something that screws up the gameplay and-or balance.
