[HELP]5165 client problem
ok, i got the 5165 source to work, but everytime i try to log in, my client exits. this happens with any 5165 client i try. can someone help me on this?

Have you tryed editing the "Config.ini"

yes, i have. but everytime i try to log in, it goes to say "logging into game server" then the client justs exits out.

What's your char name?
Because if you have special Characters (alt +) in your name it will do that.

there is no special characters, i just put /newacc strungsword 123456
|

Have you made the char yet?
Or can't even get to character creation screen?

no, i cant. when i click enter, it goes to the loading screen, then just exits by itself

Yeah this happens to me too. I've edited the config and everything required to run the server. But the client just closes. Also, the console is clean. (No errors) It would be grateful if someone can help.
OS: Windows XP
Client: DarksideCo Client

I found a fix to this.
Use a completely clean 5165 client.
Don't use darkside.
Use a clean one.
Meaning patch it up yourself.

nope, didnt work. i patched from 5136-5165, and it still wont work. it still exits at the loading screen without going to the character selection screen.

Anyone wanna help or what? I think its the client that's causing the login problem. Also tried patching it manually. But it still won't work. Need help from the noobs that got it working...

In your "Config.ini" you cannot use 127.0.0.1 as the IP Address. It must be your actual Internal or External IP. e.g. (internal)192.168.0.2 or (external)76.254.24.10

Ok so my 5165 server runs but then when i try to logon it says maints happening - i've opened the right ports + i've tried to use hamachi instead still nothing config is edited and server.dat is too i have no idea why it wont work!
