Not strictly speaking, if itemlock was made to prevent the trading of items only, rather than the dropping of items, im pretty sure you'd get peeved off if your account was hacked for whatever reason and items taken away.

Its a valuable feature for any server, if its coded to only prevent trading of locked items, your a fool if you wouldnt want such a feature.

Here is how easy it is:
You have accountname
You have password for account
You have email
You hope that he use same password for account as in email
You change his password
You change his email
Wupti you now have an account
Then unlock his gear and trade it over

Come on man think before you speak, the whole idea behind the duration of itemlock is the fact that if your account did get hacked, you can easily file a report in which time the items in question are still locked, and by the time you have your account back the items are still locked hence you dont lose them.

simple steps can be taken to secure your account/items.

1. don't share info
2. don't go black/red you might lose items.

stupid thing about waiting for 5 days, trade partnership 3 days... so stupid.

I'm just security concious mate, and yes you can use thos steps to secure your account, but you have people that dont take care with their account, and the thought of free gold/cps by a scam website attracts them, and as previously posted the itemlock duration takes care of any sillyness on a user behalf, for this reason its not stupid is a **** good idea because of the sillyness of people who dont care.

Edit: .. and then bitterly complain later that they got hacked.

Yes correct and how much hassle did TQ get for hacked items compared to now, as i say please think befgore you speak.. if itemlock isint implented into any p.server.. the owners will get ****** off with the fact everyones items are getting hacked.. and then most probably close the server down.. or infact implement someway to lock items.

The main thing your forgetting is that this is a PRIVATE server not retail.
If you get hacked, it's your own fault for being a dumbass. It's a private server, getting maxed gears will take like a week or so on some servers while a few minutes on others. It's not going to take years to manually get gears on a pserver. ItemLock was a benefit for the top players and pkers but mostly for bulkers so they can guarantee they won't permanently lose their gears for dying once.

Well I wish you goodluck when your players start sending you emails about hacked accounts and you feel that you can be no longer bothered running your server, but all the same goodluck, i most certainly wont be playing it.

If it was my server, I wouldn't even reply in case of that.
Only if they can prove is hack with program.

Max gears in a week btw is not a good idea, people want to actually earn what they wear, its a common fact within any game, making gears available almost instantly will never ever work.

And for this fact itemlock is needed, if you dont want to put it in, im not ******* about it, im just simply saying it WILL solve alot of hassle to you and your admin team.

If you dont want my advice then dont take it, peronsally I dont give a **** wether your server succeeds of fails, only trying to be helpful and if you want to be ignorant to this fact its fine by me.
