[Please Read] Before you ask for Help

This thread is to help you guys out there with problems that you need help with, and the others that are trying to help you with your problems.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There's one thing I really one to put out here on the discussion/Questions. Especially for those seeking help.

First of all, if you're asking for help and have a problem with your server. Please provide the information if you yourself are programming on it or not. Or somebody else is doing it for you.

There's no use in us helping you and providing you with source solutions when you don't even program it yourself.

So in General this is what you should provide us when asking for help:

Quote:
Important Points!
- Do you code for your server/source?
- What source are you using?
- Are you having any ERROR messages? Please provide a copy of it.
Provide as much information as you can, this will help both you and us to come up with a solution. Screenshots or even videos can help.

Some problems can't be explained through text and images. So if you happen to be able to re-produce the problem, tell us the steps you made for it to occur.

Here's a List of programmers that can help you: (Please note some charge you):
- Drakejoe67 (Charges according to deal | Available Time: Low)

Please post on the thread if you want me to add you in the list.

I don't know if I completely agree with the statements made in your thread. I agree that if someone has a question, they should discuss what the problem is, including the source and error messages shown; however, someone who knows how to program just a little bit would already be doing that. The real problem is that people just come in and try to start servers without knowing how to program what-so-ever, so they don't know how to debug or even find the problem. On top of that, most of the people doing this aren't very bright people when it comes to problem solving. Occasionally we get someone bright who wants to learn and wants to be guided in the right direction; but looking at the threads being created, a lot of people lack.

Yeah, I agree with you there. I really like that there are some that dedicate their time to discuss and learn.

But we've had alot of threads that just comes in and state their problem that doesn't even code for their server. Or maybe completely clueless that they can change the source (coding on it).

It'll be easier for us to help them, if we know if they're knownledgable for the information we usually give them, if by some chance they say they're not coding for their source, we can provide them with the right path to start doing so.

This in a way also introduces new members into our community of programming.
My point is, it's easier for us to know where we start our discussion and solutions. There's no need to give a car wheel to a person that doesn't drive a car.

The deal is you don't have to teach a student algebra if you're a calculus teacher. That's not your job. If the member doesn't know basic basic programming, then that's his fault for skipping ahead of himself. The most we can do is offer help with the code. If the person cannot understand what we're talking about, then it's not our fault or responsibility to teach that person how to program just for that code segment. There are exceptions, but for the most part, not our problem.
