Hello Elitepvpers!

it has come to our attention that with many different servers are being published, but most are failing due to the lack in staff/hoster/players

a solution is 1 big project that will certainly hurt TQ,

We are looking for Anyone who can lay down some time daily, and create a server, we will need more coders, moderators, and webdesigners.

Every part of this conquer will be custom so Net Dragon cannot touch us, we just need people for it to begin, also we will try to beat Conquer's website, and their work by making ours better, free to get good, and custom!

yeah, i spoke with Hoven earlier, his thread here is based off the idea of the manifesto. Problem is the manifesto is just a plea for a unified effort within the community, something myself and others have already posted. Ppl are replying to it as if it is a project when it is simply the proposition of an idea, so Hoven made this thread to try to actually form a project with ppl. But as many have said, it prolly wont go anywhere, since everyone is too busy with other things or their own server. Having a bunch of intermediate coders wont be sufficient, at least one pro needs to hop on board. I've stated before, and in the manifesto and now here, I'd be glad to help any project graphically, which could include anything you could think of. I could possibly get Swissknife to hop in, and Unknownone has said he would help me with map implementation, which means custom maps. Personally i wont waste either of their time until we get at least one pro coder.

As pro coders go, Hybrids doing graphic programming (OpenGL, DirectX, etc), Korvacs is gone (?), Haydz is ... Haydz... So I don't really know.

Haydz isn't exactly online much. But we are making an information page for me and him to use . Like Packet Information as such.

As for manifesto the only problem is trust :/. I wouldn't like to share any of the new encryptions since i know it would just be leached and used somewhere else... you may count me in the 'manifesto' but ill only be helping now and again.

Also Korvacs as left to my knowledge, so i doubt he will be on epvpers again or any other conquer related forum ...

well i spoke more with Hoven last night, and he had Andrea in the chat as well. Now I'm sure she can code, and she seems very nice, but she couldnt even maintain the convo as she was working on two other projects at that time, one LOTF and one ini driven server. I don't mean anything bad when i say, this project would be the third on her plate, and i wonder how much time she could commit. Ultimatum, your help would be cool, i will also try to reach emme, and see if he is interested, but both of you sound busy lately as well. Maybe the prime time to start a project like this has passed, which is unfortunate, seeing how there is now 2 graphic artists (myself and Swissknife, confirmed) who are ready to go. i understand what you mean about trust Ultimatum, but please consider this. As graphic artists our contribution will be distributed to ALL who get the client, which means basically anyone who grabs the client will have access to our work. trust is a non-issue for us, and believe me, it takes as much effort and time (perhaps varying amounts versus coding) to do what we do, yet once done, it is released into the wild, for all to incorporate into their own servers/clients. i dunno, i guess the prospects grow more and more dim everytime i attempt this with anyone. But thanks for your offer Ultimatum, I'm sure Hoven will be in touch with ya. =)

I'd like to speak more about the trust issue. My personal opinion is that this server could easily dwarf TQ. We're imaginative, hungry, and we have something to prove to TQ. That said, i doubt we could really control it, it will be sought after by many ppl. That isnt a bad thing. If the server is that successful we can prolly count on a cease and desist order coming our way at some point in time. When that time comes, it will leave one PC for another, to frustrate TQ's efforts, and then the variable of the source being leaked is increased. Why not plan on releasing it and flooding the community with a top notch server? That way, they cannot shut them all down (think "whack-a-mole"). That said, if ppl could agree to release this when finished, the trust factor would be a mute point. Just my opinion, of course, not a rule of the team, just food for thought.

I talked a bit with Grant (Hoven) and Dan(Zutuzi or something), and we're not sure yet if we are going to use a public source or create one from scratch. They wanted to use Hybrid's source first as a base but I rejected since I don't belive we'll be progressing as fast as I want to with that source. We will keep you updated with new information once we decided things.
