Why would you even use Visual Studio 2012? It's still a BETA and full of bugs. Unless you plan on help Microsoft debugging it, then it's pretty much useless. I'll stick with 2010 till anything important comes in a further version of Visual Studio or the .NET Framework.
I like the design of the 2010 much better than 2012.
Also @ shadowman123, 2008 isn't old. Everything at .NET 3,5 will work at the latest version. All they do everytime they upgrade is just adding new things and sometimes they get rid of old features, but they do not remove them they just put an Obsolete attribute on them, so you can still use them with later frameworks.
An e-book from 2004 wouldn't even be old as it would still teach you what you need.
I bet you that 99% of your source is not even using a single feature from above 4.0, so it'll still run with .NET 3.5.

There is only a very few small differences with not a lot of people will even use. I bet you that you won't use it in the creation of your private server nor 90% of any other application you're using.
Also you won't need to learn them as the first things. Learn the language before you start looking up new features.

They have existed a lot of years back, so since you go so much up in new keywords why didn't you know these? Also why haven't you used them?
Another thing is you go much up in using latest version because of new features, but why are you still working with Impulses source then? It does not use any new features, not even thread-safety from 4.0 such as concurrentdictionary etc.
