Again, I'd trust unknownone actually looking at the code/ASM of it, than a virus scanner.

If it is a virus, own'd the people who actually paid for it.

I guarantee there is no virus/trojan in this. If someone wanted to access your computer, they could do it in alternative ways that would be undetectable to any virus scanner. You guys don't seem to understand how virus scanners work, (or rather, how they fail), because if you did, you'd know you're completely wasting your time by using them.

The reason an AV might suggest that this contains a virus are: Some AV software have week support for .Net applications which are executed differently from native binaries. This acc server is written in C#. Another reason might be due to the packing it uses. The author has packed the server to deter people from reverse engineering it.

Again, I'll assure anyone who bought it, you're safe. Everyone else - stop pretending you know something.

I agree with unknownone lol, I dont know anything about AV so i don't use them, waste of time. But how easy are these to make if your a total newb at it, or how much does it cost?

If you've already made a private server, it can't be that hard. Since the new encryptions are only on the game server, you don't even need those.
The only thing you really need to know is how the acc server communicates with the game server.(If it does o.0)

Well i'm not sayin it is or isn't infected just wanted to comment on the last paragraph you said there unknown.

.NET executable runs in CLR and CLR converts it to native code you can even precompile it to native code and .NET exe is same as other exes except it references .NET libaries..The only explainable reason it would set off a anti is if he obsfucated the code using one of the lame obsfucation methods that virus writers do and sets it off as virus even when it isn't or the way he packed it..Should have nothing to do with .net application.

It's $40 which is nothing. It's 3 to 4 hours work at minimum wage (in the UK). However, making your own account server would take more than 4 hours. Even for an experienced programmer like me: I'd need to first understand the communication between client and acc server, then the communication between auth and msg server, plus the database structure etc.

The author of this acc server already had most of the knowledge, and had help understanding what he didn't, that's how it weas done so quickly. If you don't have the knowledge already, making your own will probably take you days.
