Oh, well then it's odd that he knew that there was a thread about him in a section he cannot view.

Im all for giving even if I don't know very much. Any php skills I currently have I am always up to offer the problem is I don't really see people asking for this type of stuff, and My C# is still very basic, id really need to get with someone to explain thing like packets and others in more depth before hand... I mean I have taken C# classes, but understanding everything in a source is very hard when you get thrown a full thing all at once and no one to explain what is for what and so on... I've learned a little bit from pro4never's project, but he never had the chance to explain things to me, and in return I was willing worked on the website because it was something I enjoyed doing same goes for coding any of the simple things in C# I understood.
--Plus he has become a great person to know that I am able to trust and just hang out with--
Edit-- I'd like to be part of the underground if I am welcomed..

Well, UG as I had intended to be changed to from this thread was to be a "filter" of sorts. While it's great someone like you might like to learn, there really won't be anything inside for "learning", but rather applying already learned skills to create something larger. As far as learning goes, there are plenty of resources everywhere to learn C#, C++, anything. UG is not a "I'm in UG and you aren't" sort of deal. It's a "You can join UG too if you prove you're here to contribute and not simply leech" section. Proving that is as simple as releasing something, displaying your knowledge via helping others, things of that nature. Objects posted in UG are not for the common user and instead of creating headache of them asking "wat do?" it's in a place where anyone who "can do" would/should have access (abilities and attitude permitting). Ultimately, those who deserve it should have access to UG. It's not an elitist group but a group away from the masses where the non-leecher can enjoy things that would otherwise not be posted in the public.

Ah got it. As for the things I am able to provide are basicly useless here at the moment the answer would be no, not a big deal was worth a try to ask, as for all my C++ and C# most of it is all school related and I dont think its the best idea to be posting that type of stuff, and its all the basic things from arrays to lists and so on.
Okay great I understand the basics. Where do I move on from here is what I am having problems with..

Be ambitious and write your own source, use others as references, thats what i did to vastly improve after ******** around with NPCs on coemu and writing odd bits for it like warehouses.

Don't suppose anyone would want to be a mentor xD.. I have some old C# school projects I coded that could be looked at and most likely maybe improved upon for starters.

PM me for a link (if you want) to an ebook is actually the same as the physical book I bought oh so many years ago that taught me what I needed to start, it may or may not give you what you need to expand. (note, C++)
If you're interested in doing C#, well, I can't exactly help point you anywhere for that other than google.
Although, since you are learning it currently, another thing you could do IS share what you are learning and/or make attempts to apply it (even if only a little) to something CO related to help others learn along with you.

Didn't someone in this section start a "How-To" set of tuts for programming in C#?

I've already watched the video's he provided.. it seams I need to spend some time reviewing pro4's handling packets I believe i seen videos on that, plus I need to study up on dictonary's, list, a bit more I am noticing most of the coding I am doing isnt complex enough using more then simple arrys or lists.. and only having one class.
--edit--
looks like I can go over unit 2 in the programming for idiots, should help a bit..
also pro4 has gone into basic details about packets I guess its a start, I'm still a little bit lost though currently.

Could I suggest: although not focused on server stuff like this, they will teach you that kind of programming you're after.
Will teach you reason for making classes/structures/abstract classes/partial/lists/dictionary and much more. Just follow the tutorials and you'll learn quite a lot. You will however need to install XNA since that is what it's focused around.

Also remember to make things to practice. Make what? Who cares. If you're learning sockets, try pulling a webpage and doing get/posts. If you're practicing lists and dictionaries, get a list of data in a text file or something and read it in and manipulate it. It's much of the reason why when I do a project, I end up redoing the entire thing multiple times. The first few times are not serious but more of a practice session of it where I can learn specific things better and then apply them when I remake it.

Completely agree with that, you'd be supprised if you saw my work from say a year-2years ago compared to something now.
Examples (I will get around to uploading source)
 - Just a month ago I think now. - My very first c# programming, before that I made programs in GML, using "GameMaker" pathetic I know... That was less than 3years ago.

If you ever have specific questions or decide to work on a custom source, lemme know. As you know I'm not generally on my msn that often (when I'm on the comp I'm usually DOING something lol) but I have no problem with writing up some examples if you have specific questions.
And yes... writing a custom source is a FANTASTIC way to learn.
I did it with both my proxy and original hellmouth source. Neither were anything special but I learned a TON in the process.
That being said... my main interest right now is in XNA. I have a bunch of concepts but I'm really sorta taking my time and working out how exactly I want to code anything. In the mean time I can see myself working on a few casual games if you ever wanted to lend a hand in those (anything from ideas to graphics resources to some coding).
Tbh I don't see myself doing any large projects in the near future. Small learning projects are more my speed right now xD

Broken link? I always like reading up on XNA.
I posted a pdf to an XNA book that I purchased recently but outside that I've just gone over some little tutorials and stuff.
