I've been told that SWVPS is terrible... though I used to use it and it was fine for me.
There's also this company... though I've never tried it before. It doesn't look very promising but you can customize it for your use:

The term virtual dedicated server or VDS is used less often for the same concept, however it may indicate that the server does not use burst/shared ram through multiple machines, as well as individual CPU cores.
Complete side note but please for *** sake do some research.
Examples...
-Network stats (shared connection or dedicated. how fast? shared with how many?)
-OS (linux and most public sources do not mix well)
-Host location
-PRICE
-Ram/Proc
Honestly you shouldn't need any super fancy ram/proc for an entry level server but it's ALWAYS better to pay for more than you need. I'd rather spend an extra 5 bux a month and have something worth using then save a little and be trying to run my server on a potatoe.
swvps, has done some upgrades recently before we changed to a dedi it seams to be worth wild, their prices are great and the up time is awesome, never really had an issue with them.
have upgraded and are ******* brilliant now, I have a VPS with them right now, the very standard package for $18 p/m includes 1000gb bandwith, 100mb download speed, INTEL CORE i7 CPU and it gives you an option if you wanted it hosted in EU, Texas in US or Washington in US, Its brilliant!

Another host I use is . They have servers in many countries, so you can get something to suit you, and they're well priced (for Win atleast)
Swvps sucks and i dont think anyone should deal with them.
Network connection speed is always down to like 1mb
2 IP addresses becomes 1
Plesk 30 domains you dont get to create anything over 1 domain
and the support: you always get an email that say case closed without even having the chance/contact a real person.
