Mining Theory

For mining, i believe that the mining system works as a list. Every integral, you pick up a specific code; each code can be classified as being blank (you pick up nothing), an ore, a gem, and so forth. Therefore, each cooridinate on the map has its own list of codes. For example, you could be standing at one place and the chain of codes is:

b
b
b
b
o
o
b
b
o
b
o
g
b
b
b
o
b
b
o

b=blank
o=ore
g=gem

The list is probably very long and may reset, which is why some areas may seem gemless. Often times, the gem will be at the bottom of the list, to encourage miners to work for them; however, when one finds a gem near the surface, it may be because someone else has already mined the b's and o's and they left right before they mined the gem.

Again, (because I know there will be at least one person that will misinterpret my theory) the above hypothesis has not been proven but may answer several questions that people have.

It is realistic and very possible but it is not helpful nor can it be proven.

Thank you, you've just defined the word "theory."

wtf? It is helpful, it fills up that blank space in your head of wondering how it does work anyway. And having a decent theory in that blank place is better than having just a blank space.

Good theory dragon, very thought through.

i saw a better theroy once that made me think omg i think that is true

ok this is what i saw that u get gems according to the amount of people that are in the mine take pc mine u hardly get any gems there cuz its just filled with utter noob accounts so the rate of u getting a gem is low, where as if u go to some place that is empty lets take DC mine then u can get a higher amount of gems. ive been thinking about this and i think that this is more then likly 2 be true after mining in PC mine and then moving onto DC mine it was like bliss to get more gems then i would think ive got there.

ive gotten more super and refined gems in DC compaired to the amount of all the gems that ive gotten out of PC mine. this is because DC mine is empty. think about it go there one time and see for urself ull get more super and refined gems in DC , and u ur get more gems there then all of the gems out of PC mine (hard to say but i hope u got it)

no theories.. ever heard of RANDOM NUMBER GENERATORS? why would tq go through such a hassle to create these complex lists and algorithms when they can simply write a random number generator function. (i.e. pick a number from 1-1000, if x > 990 , then mine a gem) much simpler for coding. you know tq and how lazy they are.

if you could read:
mining works as a list, like he said above,
this is just his theory, not a program you can use to mine easyer

if you onyl come here to leech programs and say stupid things, leave

I believe that, TQ is so lazy that MZ resembles TC maps xD why would they go through all the hard work of creating a complex system for something as minute as mining?

Good theory, but I really do believe it's random, just like db drops <3

Hahaha not at all easy.

In effect, he's right, except for two lil' differences: First, it uses numbers and not strings (there is absolutely no point in using a string, which would slow down the execution time by tens of times), and second, it figures these things out serverside, over which we have no control.

Looks like my theory was wrong. Looks like all Moonboxes are Moonbox. If you can prove that it isn't, by all means let me know =P
Mining Theory.

Ok guys. Just hear me out. I know im a "n00b" on these forums but i have been playing CO for 2 years and 6 months (roughly) anyway i was wondering. CO TOBO mining thing where you drop ores around your feet is the best way to get Gems if u dont move. The trick is NOT MOVING. i know this.. BUT i think that there is 2 "layers" so to say of the mines. The 1st layer is what we see.. Just a black mine... Under that layer i belive there are gems. and theres no pattern but i believe they are just...
Another mining 'theory'
04/21/2006 - Conquer Online 2 - 10 Replies
Well here is just another thought as to how mining works, it kind of just came to my head. Anyways, it sounded somewhat legit. Here goes.. There are patterns in the ores you may get, some small, some colossal, depending on which ores you mine (may be the rate, type etc). My guess is that there may be certain patterns that you can hit and score a gem. Of course there would be thousands of patterns, ore drops are randomized but only to a point. Maybe the ores are random, but when you hit a...
so call theory of mining a gem
01/26/2006 - Conquer Online 2 - 12 Replies
ok this is my guess or something...so lets say the gm sets the mining thingy like 3 layers of ore to mine b4 getting to a gem, which the gem lies on the 4th layer...like for example area A got a gem in the 4th layer. and the first 3layers to get to the 4th layer is block by this ores...ok so u mine like 3 ores out from the first 3 layers and thus after getting off the first 3 layers u are now approaching the 4th layer which the gem lies on...so when u mine the 4th layer u get the gem...its my...
