Well since Mr.Teenies Effect Removal came out and i had been using it..I decided to make my own for the fact that when i enter TG my client will sometimes hang,
and the Sounds get really loud and carry out..it's gay.SO i've made this tool to remove the sound as well as the effects, SILENT TG ^^.
Quote:
The Effect Removal removes, Super Weapon effects Kill Counter HP taken when you hit an object Portals Magic SKills Weapon Skills Action Commands And for Archers Fly Time is gone.
The Sounds That Are Removed Magic,Weapon Skills, and Skills Sounds
It may take a minute to run the Sound Remover..but not very long at all ^^.
This Tool Greatly help's me in TG i run a good 280-314 Ping without ever Disconnecting unless they have Server Mait. I hope ya likes it !

Also you MUST CLOSE Conquer Before you attempt to remove the sounds.Since Conquer running will give you a Path/Access Error since the files are in use.
What happen's through my testing is that it'll Rename what files not in use to <soundfilename>.wav.bak, however the ones in use will NOT be renamed and backed up.
once thats done it won't be able to restore properly since it locates and deletes the .bak files. I haven't found any way around this as of yet =\.
Still working on it and i might be adding some other features as well.
Also on Removing sounds unlike the (IF FileExists) code i used for the Effects
since there's 103 sound files..i didn't want to try to see if those all existed.
so what it does it creates a soundoff.ini file in the sound folder.
and it searches to see if THAT file exists or not.And if it doesit restores the files and deletes the soundoff.ini
Vice Versa..I'm Making it now so that if you DO get a path/access error it will halt the whole process so you wont have to worry about half the files being backed up and the ones in use not and messing up the whole remove/restore process ^^.
As soon asi get back from the store it'll be done and posted tonight ^^
This will result in you having to re-install Conquer to repair the files..NOT COOL lol.
SO just close conquer and run it.to remove sounds..Then close to Restore sounds.
or do what i did for testing..Zip up the sound folder so you have a backup incase.Run it to see how it works. Then go from there
But as long as Conquer Client is completely closed it will work just fine.
It's just a series of filecopying to rename them to .bak
and to kill the originals and create blank files so Conquer will load without error.
Restoring simply Renames the .bak files to the original .wav extension, and Deletes the .bak files ^^
Effect removal doesnt matter it'll Remove them while Conquer is running.
However it wont take effect till you re-open Conquer.
It's written in Visual Basic 6.0 and it's a BIG MESS of a code lol.
It may be buggy ..but as i've already stated if Conquer is closed it should run smoothly..unless you have files missing or in another location.
Path's used are C:\Program Files\Conquer 2.0\ini and C:\Program Files\Conquer 2.0\ini
wouldnt it be easier to go the other way? copy jump bell itemdrop etc.. write them to a new folder then rename the folder with all the sounds you dont want?
well actually..it only goes into the folder and renames the ones i had it rename..
no sense in creating a new directory -.-.That'd be a bit more work..
hmm niice tool, but guys you can still use COboto for the effects, you wont get detected there. You will only get caught if you hit ctrl+d. For the sound you could put mute?
i suppose i could have renamed the sound folder lol, but if i did that it wouldnt be able to load the sound files causing error. The sound files MUST exist however they just have to be blank files. 0KB if they are empty .wav files then it'll load the files by name and not cause error just there will be no sound for it to play for you to hear ^^..so folder renaming isnt an option however you do have an idea i'm gathering code to just rename the files in the WHOLE folder to .bak..making conquer completely silent all together.then back to the original format as usual.
Also mute would work..for you not to hear the comp sounds however the client still has those sounds files running through it and it'll continue with ping.
well i read through this post and i'm wondering... isn't there an ini file for sounds too, like the one for 3DEffects ?
if there isn't, then y not make a whole folder with blank *.waw's, name the folder bak and then have your prog rename folders? Would be easyer, wouldn't it?
I have no idea of programming so scuze me for saying something stupid
I had to change my directory fro mConquer 1.0 to Conquer 2.0 -___-
You know it would be better if you'd just make it work in ini folder or in conquer main folder, because many people, who don't have main hard drives as C: or their CO is on another drive, will never be able to use this.
thought i'd bump this up for whoever may not have had access to it, sometimes TG lag's and the sound hang's and it get's annoying so this'll take care of that ^^ Removes sounds after it backs them up and can remove effects, restores to defaults as well., it uses AutoIt to locate the Conquer window so just register it and you'll be set automatically closes conquer so there aren't any errors.
Can someone help me please. I have a slow computer and i need this. whenever i click on the file nothing but a blank page comes up and nothing downloads or nothing.

Of course i wanna see the attacks, but not the rest of the crap that makes my ping jump to 800 sometimes.
Thanks in advance.
Effect removal 01/30/2007 - Conquer Online 2 - 5 Replies What does effect removal do? Does it completely remove the ini files, or does it just replace the words within the files? Don't ask me to try it out, since I can't run .exe right now.
Effect Removal 01/14/2007 - Conquer Online 2 - 0 Replies Hi All
I have used Mr. Teenies and COERR removal, but both are the same... the bad part is that portals are removed and you cant see, cant see enemies attacks or your attacks damage too...
Any can do a selective removal please ? that changes the effects in-game (Like Cotobo) with options for remove the effects that you want (arrows, gems, attacks, magics, etc)... for can choose the best options for you.
Thanks
