ANI Quality Editor - Display selected DDS

the main purpose of this program is?

let me explain why i dont add that
right now, for every single line, the program will check it 4 times to see if its a quality item. which means 4x60000=240000 operations
if i want to add a search for gems, i will need to add 7 more search
which means 11x60000=660000 operations

the reason the program couldnt just go to the line and edit it is because what-if for some reasons ANI files lines are not all the same? one line text replace messed up, whole file order is bad

Do I change all three or just the first one or what?

Also after opening in Notepad I understand what you said earlier with the other ID numbers.

Evan: I sort of understand now. You still did an awesome job with everything you have done so far. I have found about 15 refs, 5 unis, 2 +1's (unrelated), and 4 gems (unrelated). Your work has helped me a lot both in game and out of game understanding how these things work.
I am also sorry for taking over you thread a little trying to figure out how to add on to what you have done already.

well, i changed all three, even though ref and super two cant drop from mobs. (just because if there IS a super gem on the ground for some odd reason, i want it to jump out at me)

a couple questions:
what would cause peoples ani files to be changed?
is there no function that works like ctrl-f?

and even if you did do it your current way but with the gems, many people would appreciate having the option to wait longer to have gems edited too.

as u might have notice, my program runs everything in background
never opens the file
if it never opens the file, it can never use the Ctrl+F function
so if it never use that function, i need to use loop read function to find it
AND even if there is a Ctrl+F function, what it does is still checking every single line, which does not change the fact that it will use at least 3x more time
which is like using 1hr to finish scanning and edit the ANI file
and the ANI file can be different because of a new PATCH
right now, this program can run on any patch and edit it
and the reason i dont add a tutorial to teach people how to change the gems is to save myself trouble
even its like a very single editing, many people tends to fail~

I dont know what you are using to make this program, and im surely not claiming to be an expert on this kind of stuff.
i just think that there is an efficient way to make the program look for the gems and changed their image files as well.
i wasnt suggesting that you make the program actually open the file and run ctrl-f, i was just pointing out that ctrl-f takes fractions of a second to find the string you search for. and if that is possible there, i dont see why it wouldnt be possible for another program to do the same thing.

again, im not claiming to be an expert, and this is based entirely on my own speculations.

Hey I noticed a really strange glitch with this. Not sure if you are aware of it or not.

Iron ore (and maybe others) above rate 5 show up on the ground as Quality. Rate 6 is ref, 7 is uni, 8-9 is elite, and 10 is super.

I think those numbers are right but I'm not totally sure. Anyway its kinda strange. Maybe you edited something in the MapItemIcon file that doesn't need to be? idk.

basically what the program does is massively detect ID name that ends with 9] 8] 7] and 6]
if so unfortunate that some IDs have the same ending, they will appear as pink paw also
but the chance of it is very slim, it at least wont appear in normal items (not sure about quest items)
so that means if u hunting normally, if u see a pink paw sign, yea thats highly possible thats an quality item, go pick it up

i tried it. everything went according to the instruction.. but when i restarted my co. i dont see any item on ground..

i set it to change image on super and elite items. i tried dropping elite wand.. i dont see it on ground.. but its there.. i guessed where it was and picked it up again..

hmm. what could be wrong..
