same for me and i have like 50 GB free space...

WinRAR (required to extract the installer package) OR 7zip

DON'T USE SPACES rings a bell? It's not about free space on the drive, it's the ****** space in the path name where you saved the installer (aka C:\Documents[space]and[space]Settings\A[space]Very[space]Noob[space]Name\Desktop.

Will Work: C:/Windows
..... just go to Start>My computer> C: create a folder and run the installer in it...

If this was too difficult for you to comprehend, you will probably find Chrome is not for you.

I just installed it on a Pentium 4 machine WITHOUT spaces and it worked flawless
