CoD HWID Ban
Hey guys, I’m currently HWID banned on my PC and am looking into replacing parts in time for MW2 as I would just like to play normally again. I’m already on track on replacing the MOBO and SSD. Do I need to replace parts like CPU or RAM, or is that totally unnecessary? I would just like to not spend the extra money if I absolutely do not have to.

The majority of HWID bans can be bypassed with simply replacing the mobo and drives.
However, not all bans are created equal, as we've seen with some people being shadowed for 7 days and others for 30+ days. So, nobody can say with 100% certainty if you'll need more or not, but for most, as mentioned, replacing mobo and drives is often enough.

what if i have repeat offenses of using unlock all tools? any account i make and try to play MW/WZ on gets permabanned (says Permanently Banned on BNet launcher) within an hour of playing and I was banned within hour of playing the MW2 beta on Steam. I’m just having a hard time understanding my HWID ban because while all of that happens between MW/WZ and then the MW2 beta, yet i’ve been able to play Vanguard for hours on end with no issues on the same computer.

That is very strange. I'm not sure about that.
From what you described, you're definitely HWID banned. When Vanguard was in beta, everyone that was HWID banned from MW19/Warzone was also shadow banned (similarly to the MW2 beta). However, once Vanguard went live (full release), all of the shadow bans were removed. So, this might happen as well for MW2, but there is no telling for sure.

right? I’ve been having a hard time wrapping my head around it. Because like I said before, I could go home tonight, boot up my computer and play Vanguard with no 200+ ms ping or anything. I can play and play and never wake up to the Battle.net launcher saying “Permanently Banned”… however, that’s not the case for MW/WZ. I figured that since it wasn’t banning me from Vanguard, I would’ve been fine with creating an entirely brand new Activision account, using my gf’s phone number and pre ordering MW2 through Steam… Nope… perma banned within an hour of playing the beta. Can play Vanguard just fine, though.

Were you banned AFTER ricochet was introduced or before?

All of my unlock all tool bans occurred after Ricochet was fully implemented into the games.

I'm surprised you're not banned in Vanguard then.
One of the lucky ones!

what’s even crazier is the fact that my original Vanguard account got permabanned when i once used ESP for the game. the only kind of cheats i’ve used since then is unlock all tools on MW/WZ and now im HWID banned on literally everything except for Cold War of course because Ricochet wasn’t even implemented yet and for some strange reason, am still able to play Vanguard normally.
