I think you're missing the point.
As stated above, lifetime only applies to the lifetime of a certain tool.
If a new tool is created, an existing lifetime subscription does not apply to it. This is why people recommend NOT buying lifetimes.

This doesn't matter. You had the opportunity to use it, it is your fault if you didn't.
If you buy a key in January but never use it, you can't ask for a refund in March.
Additionally, if you bother reading his rules, he states:
all sales are final.

I don't think you understand the amount of work it would take to go through thousands of customers to find out which people didn't use their keys, and then accordingly compensate those people. You're thinking as if he is a massive business when in reality it is just him.
Additionally, you cannot replace some keys and not all keys as you will then get people trying to scam him by saying "I didn't use my key" and other excuses. Not to mention the amount of shit he would receive from people who didn't get a key replaced.
I would consider yourself lucky if he decides to do a discount on the first month of sales for the new product. I doubt he will, but that is the most likely scenario.
