These are false positives. My guess is that it detects Tor in the 7zip sfx as "Downloader.Agent".
xerbot.exe is a wrapper for luajit which loads luajit bytecode at runtime, that probably explains why it is detected as "HEUR/QVM02.0.Malware.Gen".

You don't have to trust me, you can use xerbot in a virtual machine if you want:

I mainly test xerbot in Windows 7, I tested it in Windows XP and it gives me the problem you've described. I assume you are also experiencing this problem in Windows XP?

I fixed all outstanding issues with running Xerbot on Windows XP through Virtualbox.

I will start working on the CAPTCHA service integration shortly.

Some technical information:
The silent crash was caused by wx.dll being dependent on msvcrt90 (vcredist 2008) which is not available on XP causing an access violation. I have recompiled the majority of Xerbot's library dependencies to try and remove the dependencies on different versions of msvcrt*.

VirtualBox also causes a crash in SDL when a renderer with acceleration is created, therefore I have set the software renderer as the default as a workaround. SDL does not crash in VMware's Player so this is most certainly a bug in VirtualBox.


As a side note: SDL isn't really being used yet (it is always initialized), but it will be used in the future to draw mini-maps or radars for certain games during botting.

There was also a bug in the restarting mechanism of Xerbot (required for invoking the updater), but it did not cause trouble in Windows 7 so it had gone unnoticed until now.

I have checked again on a fresh Windows XP installation in Virtualbox and it runs without any problems.

Did you re-download the new version from the website and extract it?

Xerbot can't update itself in a case like this, so you will have to re-download and re-extract the new version from the website, and make sure to delete the old xerbot folder.



As for working in the company and daily/weekly rewards, only the xerbot-erepublik-elite script can work in the company, but both can work+train and collect daily rewards.

Right now though, the CAPTCHA solving is not yet implemented, so you will have to log in every 3-7 days and work/train manually. You will get a message like this when it fails due to a CAPTCHA:

Working at job...
    - Failed to work: captcha
Done (Failed)

I am also pleased to announce that I've implemented the CAPTCHA solving system into Xerbot. The xerbot-erepublik-elite package can now take advantage of this, and soon also the free package.

Please do note however, that the CAPTCHA solving is still experimental.

With that being said, we use the 9kw CAPTCHA solving service to solve our CAPTCHA's.

If you want to enable the CAPTCHA solving, you will have to do the following:

Head over to their website and create a new account. You will need 10 credits for every CAPTCHA solve and you have two ways of gaining CAPTCHA credits:

1. Solving CAPTCHAs
Solving CAPTCHAs will give you a certain amount of credits. Head over to the "Captcha" tab on their website to start solving them. You will only gain credits for correct solves.

2. Buying credits
You can buy 4,000 CAPTCHA solves (40,000 credits) for 5 euros. You can head over to the "Pay" tab on their website and follow the instructions.

Once you have accumulated enough credits, you will have to set up an API key for Xerbot.

In the data section on the website (next to "Userconfig" and "Docu") you will see an "API Key" link, follow that link. You will end up in the "API management" page.

There is a form on the page below "or with regular form", fill it out as follows:

Name: Xerbot
Description: Xerbot
URL:

Then click on the "create" button.

You will see above that there is a new entry which you have just created. Next to the name is the API key, copy it.

Then open Xerbot and in the menu click "Edit"->"Settings" and paste it into the text field in the CAPTCHA section next to "APIKey". Then click on the "Apply" button.

Now when you are running xerbot-erepublik-elite or exerbot-erepublik, pause the script, click on the menu "Edit"->"Script"->"Settings" and make sure "captcha solve" is ticked. Then click the "Apply" button.

I have finished porting the CAPTCHA solving to the free version (xerbot-erepublik).

I have also made changes to the updater, so please manually update xerbot by redownloading the sfx archive and delete the old xerbot folder.

The website has been transferred to a VPS and is now accessible from , it should now be a lot faster and accessible as it is no longer a Tor hidden service.

The game or our bot?

If you mean the game then I do not know, but eRepublik isn't very complicated once you get into it. There are plenty of guides on the internet.

If you mean our bot, then no. I will create video tutorials on how to set up our bot and upload it to youtube. It's pretty simple once you've done it once, you can set it up in less than 5 minutes.

Essentially, you download Xerbot and extract it, then you download the eRepublik script and extract it into the Xerbot folder. That's all there is to it.

The reasoning behind this procedure is that I would like to release our API in the future once the API is solid, so that anyone can write their own scripts for Xerbot.

Also note that Xerbot has changed a lot since version 1.0.0, and older posts in this thread may no longer be relevant. The first post by me is always updated to reflect the current state of the bot/script.

I've gotten around to create the video that demonstrates how to download and install Xerbot with the eRepublik script.
