A collection of things as random as my mood and personality.
Then and now

What was the first game mmorpg you played? Who was the first person you added to your “friends” list? When was your first over-night gaming experience? Today I’m feeling kind of nostalgic, so I’ll talk about our favorite games that we play for a really long time, and even if we don’t, we still show a certain amount of interest in what’s going on and stuff I play now.
I remember my first mmorpg, it was none other then “Runescape”. That’s right, back “in the day” I use to play Runescape very religiously, when the game was in its “raw” form. To clarify I played Runescape before Jagex even thought about anything remotely close to “The Grand Exchange”, “The HD pack”, or “Dungeoneering” skill. This was the game that took the best years of my life. The game is not very complicated, has a very newbie friendly tutorial, and Jagex is very good with keeping the game entertaining for both Free and Member users. (Personally the coolest thing I found in runescape, is the “examine” function, there is a description for everything in the game.)
The second game I played was 2Moons, I started playing it on 2007 the first open beta. The game is very pvp and blood heavy. It use to have six playable classes, no free character customization, you had to buy premium costumes. Overall, the game was very fast paced, and was aimed more for adults, mainly because of heavy language in NPC/Quest monologs and the fact that sometimes monsters explode into bloody bits when they die. The game has enjoyed numerous expansion packs called “Actions”:
The current one is called “Action 6: Good day to die” and it will have a few upcoming expansions, “Action 7: The Tower”,” Action 8: The Cross”.
The game was closed on 2007, how will it get expansions you ask? Dekaron, is basically the same as 2Moons, it has all the same content, only the developer and the name is different. At 2009/2010 2Moons transferred its data (servers, characters, items, etc) to Dekaron before it shut down, so the game lives on, even though it was shut down.
Now, I don’t really play these two games, I only try out their updates from time to time. But now, with the game market reaching its peak, I find myself playing games that are like our previous games, or are totally different. Like I just started playing “Champions Online” the game has just gone free to play this week, and in this game, you make your character, it can look like you or a superhero you love, give him superpowers, a background story and some other stuff.
The game was Pay To Play, so it has a very good tutorial, some of the greatest voice-overs that can compete with DDO, and a lot of cut-scenes, quests with a lot of turns and twists.
On the FPS side, I play games like “F.E.A.R. Combat” it’s a lesser known title with huge maps, and 16vs16 combat. It’s a little bit like “Counter-Strike” and “Halo”, choose your weapon before you start playing versus others, you can’t buy weapons, and there are power weapons, grenades and a few other cool aspects like the ability to slow time down in some game modes.
The game is completely free, and it can entertain you if you have nothing better to do. Beware, if you are a new player to the FPS genre, you will get very frustrated because you will die over and over.
The next game I’m very fond of, is Operation 7, the game is also free (almost everything I talk about is), where this game shines, is its weapon choice, there are TONS of weapons to choose from, like the popular AK-47, or the FAMAS. On top of that, they can be fully customized. If you want a bigger/smaller clip, you can change it, change its color, add a sight to your weapon, change the muzzle, sights, and so on. The maps are fairly large and fun to play on.
Conclusion: All of these games are very fun (and not just these games), but in my opinion, the oldies are the best of the best, nothing beats our first game, the first one we enjoyed the most, so we look for differences and similarities.
