Without the newer files, there is a limit on what can be achieved. How long before people realise this?

What is it that they needed to achieve with newer files? I can't answer for other people, but I had perfect fun the way the server was right now. With more GM involvement, events and things that doesn't actually require more files would have been ok with me. In terms of content, the only thing I wasn't enjoying was the lack of masks and a re-defining of the statsystem, but would that really need the newer files?

People keep jerking off about KR files even though RedFox is a ******* shitwreck of a server with a *** awful system. Am I the only one who prefers GC over RedFox?

GC was the best server out there, maps where full of players, I started playing there at an event that gave a lot of rewards, in 2-3 weeks or so I was PS with hg +11 wep, 2 beads, hermit deco and a lot of other **** and like 2b in my bag and had that crit set +6 +7......(and i did not donated a single dollar)

If anyone ever wants to open a server that is gonna get really popular and people will not quit it, open a server how GC was right b4 it shut down.
If you can't do that just go kill yourself and stop wasting people time.

No offence to Bogdy, Zeron nor any staff members. That's how it just looks, trying to look objectively at this situation. I'm not going to cover my friends or whatsoever. People are going to leave this community, and Zeron started some era with custom content, and it'll finish shortly after server dies out, I guess. Titan got their hands on tools, but the stuff you can create with these is also limited. Unless you get compilable KR 2013+ source with server files, that is.

1. From the players' perspective, no one cares who actually own the server. They both promises things as ZeroN staff to come to the server and never did.
2. From the start, correct. Minor annoyances that everyone can live with, but that didn't last very long. But then again the server was only a little more than 2 months old (as part of ZeroN) and it started to die a month into the launch after they fix the dupe exploit. After that, there has not been a single improvement (no matter how trivial) to the game. Not really something to tout over.
3. There seems to be a misconception that everyone wanted new content and new content only. Either that or all these ps are just trying to one up each other so they can brag about who did something first (quite apparent here on this 9D community). I care about improving the current game mechanics that are broken, which has been promised to be fixed but never realized. That's the only reason I've stayed with ZeroN up until the point that they announce their closure because they were still promising things a day earlier.

I think the situation is quite simple really. Everyone wants to play the game, but no one is willing to pay for it. Even if they opened up a pay to play private server for this game, the community that can actually afford to do that is incredibly small. It'd essentially be a waste. It's the same age-old problem since Acclaim. The server needs to make money but people won't spend money without purpose. Be it leveling quickly, getting special buffs or items. On a private server, no one wants to be slow. So high experience rates, refinement rates, and drop chances are a must. If it wasn't like that, you might as well play on a live server. It just so happens that that is completely counter-productive when getting people to want to spend money. If you want to run a successful private server, then you must find a balance between speed and convenience.

If you want a perpetual free server the only option to micropayments is to have ads. with advertising paying for the server there would be no need of an item mall. the more players you get the more that advertising space is worth.

At this point I'm reasonably sure you have to expect losing money from running a 9D server. It should be done purely as a hobby, and like other hobbies, you wouldn't earn money from it.

It sucks, but that's the way the cookie crumbles.

They closed it. I am so happy that I didnt even play and pay for it after 9DPA. I had thought in that time they will come with same topic as they did in PA. "We dont have time, we are focusinv real life works etc." And they did same for zeron too.

Ya okay. However, i still liked playing it anyway. Are there any other 9D private servers left anymore then? Doesnt care if they are ****, i just want to play 9D haha. :-).
