1.) OCZ und "Fatal1ty"
"OCZ Technology Group, Inc." wurde im Jahre 2002 in San Jose (Kalifornien, USA) gegründet und hatte sich zu dieser Zeit auf Solid State Drives (SSDs) spezialisert. Mit der Zeit kamen weitere Produkte wie "Flash Drives" (USB Sticks) und Netzteile hinzu.
Am
, also sechs Jahre später, begann OCZ mit Johnathan “Fatal1ty” Wendel zu kooperieren um mit seiner Hilfe und Erfahrung als professioneller Gamer, Hardware "von Gamern – für Gamer" zu produzieren. Johnathan war einer der ersten professionellen Spieler welcher allein durch "Spielen" seinen Lebensunterhalt verdienen konnte.2.) Spezifikationen

Gut verpackt in sechs Meter Luftpolsterfolie kam das gute Stück heil bei mir an, nachdem es dann endlich daraus befreit war kam auch schon der recht große Karton zum Vorschein.
Die Verpackung besteht aus einem rot-schwarzem Design welche das Markenzeichen von Fatal1ty ist.
Auf der Vorderseite befindet sich neben Wendels Gesicht unter Anderem die "80 Plus Gold" Auszeichnung, der Hinweis auf die fünf Jahre lange Garantie von OCZ und natürlich das Netzteil selbst.
Auf der Rückseite befinden sich neben den Spannungswerten ebenfalls die Spezifikationen und ein paar zusätzliche Informationen zu den fünf Jahren Garantie welche OCZ gewährt.
Die linke Seite hat neben einem Bild vom Netzteil nicht viel zu bieten, rechts hingegen sind alle enthaltenen Kabel aufgelist mit Bild.
Nun aber zu den wichtigen Sachen – und zwar dem Netzteil.
Auch hier erkennt man deutlich die Handschrift von Fatal1ty, ganz in mattem schwarz und rot gehalten und mit einigen Aufklebern verziert lächelt es einen an. Auf der Vorderseite befinden sich die Anschlüsse für die einzelnen Kabel – in rot, darunter wurde das Logo von Fatal1ty gepackt welches zusätzlich mit einer Schutzfolie geschützt ist da dieses eine Hochglanzoptik besitzt und somit Fingerabdrücke magisch anzieht.
Auf der Hinterseite findet man neben dem Ein- und Ausschalter den Stromanschluss – das beiliegende Kabel dafür ist bei unserem Testobjekt leider für Amerika gedacht aber dafür gibt es ja Adapter. Ansonsten ist die Rückseite klar und offen gestaltet, kleine Löcher in Form von Honigwaben sorgen dafür die Luft besser zu transportieren.
Links und rechts befindet sich das schon bekannte Fatal1ty Logo und das OCZ Logo daneben.
Auf der Oberseite befindet sich wieder das Logo von Fatal1ty und natürlich der 140mm Lüfter welcher rot leuchtet sobald das Netzteil Strom liefert.
Die Unterseite wurde mit einem Aufkleber versehen welcher die Spezifikationen aufzeigt.
Alle Kabel sind mit Kabelbindern einzeln zusammengebunden und besitzen eine gummierte Schutzschicht vor den eigentlichen Steckern. Angebracht werden die Kabel durch ein Klick-System welches ein einfach an- und abstecken ermöglicht.
5.)Leistung
Nun kommen wir zum wohl wichtigsten Teil – wie schlägt sich das Netzteil im Test? Da ich leider keine passende Ausrüstung im wert von mehreren tausend Euro besitze, werde ich an dieser Stelle mit einem normalen PC testen um euch einen Einblick geben zu können was das OCZ Fatal1ty 1000 Watt denn so kann.
Unser Testsystem besteht aus:
Prozessor: Intel Core i5-2500k @ 4 Ghz
Mainboard: ASUS P8H67-V Rev 3.0
Grafikkarte: EVGA GeForce 280 GTX
Arbeitsspeicher: 2x4 GB TeamGroup Elite DDR3-1333 (CL9-9-9-24)
Netzteil: OCZ Fatal1ty 1000 Watt
Betriebssystem: Windows 7 Professional (x64)
Im Idle erreichte das Netzteil folgende Werte:

Unter Last erreicht es folgende Werte:

Wie ihr sehen könnt reicht mein System noch lange nicht aus um dieses Monster auch nur annähernd auszulasten – ohne ein SLI System ist sowas auch schier unmöglich. Eine Schwankung von 0.02 Volt unter Last ist ein wirklich sehr gutes Ergebnis!
6.) Pro / Kontra – für die die es eilig haben

Das OCZ Fatal1ty 1000 Watt Netzteil konnte mich vollends überzeugen, es ist qualitativ hochwertig verarbeitet, bietet ein sehr ansehnliches Design und bietet ein hervorragendes Kabelmanagement.
"Aus großer Kraft folgt große Verantwortung " - Wer sich das Fatal1ty 1000 Watt Netzteil ins Haus holt muss definitiv großes vorhaben denn dieses Monster besitzt eine unglaubliche Kraft welche ihr wohl nur mit einem SLI System ausreizen könnt.

4.) Look
Well packed in six meters of bubble wrap, everything was delivered safely to my place. As I got through all the wrapping, I was finally able to spot this quite large cardboard:
The design is held in red and black - typical for Fatal1ty.
On the front, one can see Wendel's face next to a "80 Plus Gold" award, some warranty notice and of course a picture of the power adapter itself.
Taking a look at the backside, one finds some specifications and a further notice on the 5 year warranty OCZ provides.
The left side just has an image of the power supply on it, whereas the right one shows a illustrated list of all cables included.
Now let's head further to the important part - the power adapter.
It is obviously bearing Fatal1ty's hallmarks again, held in flat black and red, decorated with a few labels. Red cable boxes can be found at the front, where is also a large Fatalit1y label protected with liner.
Placed at the backside, there is a on-off switch next to a power connection (the delivered cable in this case is made for America but never mind, there are things like adapters). Besides, the backside is well and openly structured, having small honeycomb holes for a stable air transport.
Left and right, there are both, Fatali1ty and OCZ labels.
On the top, there is another Fatal1ty label and of course a 140mm cooler that is lighted in red as soon as the power supply is on.
The botton was labeled with a list of all relevant specifications.
Every cable is tied together with cable tie. They are protected with a rubber layer at their ends. To plug them in, a easy to understand plug-in system is used, providing maximum ease of use.
5.)Performance
That's very likely to be the most important question: "Does is keep what it promises?" Unfortunately, as I don't possess adequate equipment worth a few grands, I'll use a normal PC as test environment.
The test environment consist of these parts:

The following values were measured in idle mode:

As one can see, my system is far from being able to exhaust this monster's full power - what is most likely not even possible without a SLI system. A variation of just 0.02 Volt under stress really is a very good result!

7.) Conclusion
I am fully convinced by the OCZ Fatal1ty 1000 Watt Power Supply, its processing is of high quality, the design is quite cool and the offered cable management is beyond criticism.
"Great responsibility arises from a position of great strength." - Who wants to buy the OCZ Fatal1ty 1000 Watt Power Supply has to intend to set the wold on fire, since that monster has so much power you need at least a SLI system to exhaust it.
