Mage - AoE Grinding Guide

Step 1] Respec -
This will give you Magic Attunement, the key factor in elemental grinding. This will also allow for some mana regeneration thanks to Magic Absorption - with 30 elementals attacking you, you are bound to resist several hits per second. For each resisted hit, you gain 5% of your mana back. Arcane Concentration was also used in order to cut down on mana loss and pervents you from going out of mana (OOM).

Step 2] Grind the water elementals in Stranglethorn Vale.
They are level 37/38, and can be grinded effectively until level 45.

*Remember: Always keep Mage Armor and Dampen Magic up.

Step 3] Grind the water elementals in Arathi Highlands.
They are level 38/39 and can be grinded effectively until level 46.

Step 4] Respec -

Step 5] Using Blizzard, grind the oozes in The Hinterlands until level 55.

Step 6] Respec -

Step 7] Grind the air elementals in northwestern Silithus.
They drop Essence of Air which sells for anywhere between 10-20g each. This will take you to level 60.

Step 8] Respec to whatever you want.

*Remember: "of the Eagle" gear is best for this leveling strategy.

If you have any suggestions, post them here. I'll update this later, I do have one more idea to alleviate the 40-46 grind (make it a little easier) but I'll have to try it first.

hmmm i am lvl 35 an grinded in STV but i didnt resist anything and died at 3 elementals...

glaubt ihr wird die methode zum schneller lvln noch ne weile zur verfügung stehen oder wird das bald von blizzard gefixxt?

Lol warum soll das Gefixt werden?

Der Teil gehört doch zum Spiel und sind ganz normale Grind Spots, nur welche wo man halt als Mageviel ep kriegt .... lol

hmm bin nen 33er gnom mage und habs probiert, aber ich sterbe schon an 2 elementals. skillung und buffs sind an.

Jo ganz einfach.
Das lvl wirt mit 35 empfohlen. Da du mehr aushälst und mehr skillen kannst. Mit 36 kriegst du Magie dämpfen, das ist das beste, da machen sie dir nur 1-10 schaden.

Sagma hast du Gestern n lvl 37 magier gesehen^^? Der dich mal Angebombt hat.

umgefähr so 30-40k ep/h

es müssen elementare sein, die physischen schaden anrichten, dann bist du bei 1-2 dmg .. und es funktioniert wirklich lol : )

The talent requires you be at least 27, but the elementals vary.

This strategy works wonders assuming you have the time and patience to wait for repops. Anyway, here's a step by step guide as to how to set yourself up.

1) Stand just outside of aggro range
2) Make sure you have magic attunement (for the grinding), magic absorbption (every little helps), and clearcasting (helps ALOT)
3) Depending on the elemental type, adjust your armor. (Frost Armor for Water Elementals, Mage Armor for Fire/Wind). Cast Frost/Fire ward if applicable
4) Make sure the elements do NOT have a mana bar. Casted spells are not nearly resisted as much as the regular hits. Make sure Dampen Magic is up
5) Run towards an elemental and cast rank 1 Arcane Explosion.
6) Run towards the next elemental and do the same.
7) Repeat steps 5 and 6 until you have a sizeable load of enemies
8) Make sure you recast Fire/Frost ward when they run out (they will easily last full duration)
9) Begin spamming highest rank Arcane Explosion till all elementals are dead
10) Consume a Mana Gem/use Evocation if you run out of mana (with Ward up and Dampen magic, you will lose no time when casting Evocation)
11) Collect your booty and run off a little bit.
12) Drink drinks, and wait for them to repop
13) Do it all over again.

Very very easy to do.

lol yea but which elementals is it worth grinding with 44/45 ?

Also bei mir klappts einwandfrei in Strangle. Hab heute morgen da mit Level 35 angefangen ( mit 34 konnte ich max 3 nehmen ) da haben sie mir noch etwa 22 schaden gemacht. Als ich dann 36 war, machen sie nurnoch 1. Bin nun schon Level 39 . 40ep/h is da kein Problem.
