Throw down a frosttrap across the way nelson (the gnome before changing to the demon model) walks. Nelson then is attackable but remains a gnome with out all the special attacks like fear etc.... In close combat he strikes with 300-600 damage but all you have to do is wingclip him, get out of range and attack.

Group with another hunter that is capable of killing the demon for you...
Watch him kill the demon for you, and you can still loot the skull..
The helping hunter can have the bow already and everything
