It allows you to create custom maps using the co-ordinate system used by most of the map addons. Each map point has its own X and Y co-ordinate, description, text-alignment and colour. Here are some example maps of NPC and building locations in the main cities:

You can also create quick maps with only one point, using a specially formatted link to the site. This means that you can quickly show other players one point in a zone without having to go and create and save a map with the map tool.
