Engineers can throw bombs/dynamite at any time, you dont need a (red) target.
This becomes usefull in a duel.
Throw a bomb when the duel countdown gets to 2 or so and if you time it right it will land and explode just as the duel starts. Nice mana-free chunk of damage and possibly a stun to start the duel.
