I discovered this exploit because someone was doing it to me. They
spammed attack while I was still waiting for my spell to cast and got
the xp and loot after I killed it. He hit it with a ranged weapon
maybe twice. I thought it might be a good way for my partner and I to
powerlevel our alts so I tried it in another zone with my partner's
main char and my lower level alt and sure enough I got the xp and the
loot after I killed it.
Basically you're stealing everyone's xp if you spam attack out of range on mobs before someone else hits them.
