i have come to find that, when AV first starts (atleast for the horde) there some frostwolfs standing right outside of the gate.
if you attack these wolfs, you are credited w/ damage that will show up in the Battleground Player log.
now, the reason this will keep you from going AFK is because when other players report people AFK, they look for 2 things. Sitting in the cave, and also, 0 Damage done. so doing this should atleast lower your chances of being reported AFK.
After attacking these frostwolfs, just fire up your favorite anti AFK bot or which i actually prefer to use is the Macro that has been floating around here with the /in command.
