Okie. I found a copy of wowsig.exe which I need to generate those silly toc.sig files for editing stuff like AccountLogin.xml, but how do you generate a signature? I can get a keygen and then it tells me that there are missing files and quits when I go to generate the sig.
Anyone familiar with this or do they know what I am talking about? Please?
Alright. I've made a smidge of my own progress here: wowsig -keygen <addon name> (in my case, gluexml) generates two files which are in giberish, of course, since we are dealing with encryption.
Then, wowsig <addon> (gluexml again), generates the actual .sig file. However, my problem is that if I use the real date, it comes up with a signature that is way different from what the original sig file is. If I set my computer back to the release day of 1.12.1 the sig file looks similar and is the same size as the original, but WoW still tells me that it is corrupted and needs to be reinstalled. I even tried making my own patch-3.mpq file for it and it still tells me it is bogus. And I just had another idea. What if I set the keygen date to that of the patch release date? Such as if I use my own patch, then use the real date. Perhaps that will work...?
Hopefully there is someone on here who actually knows how to make signatures.
