Calculations of why WoW gold botting is unreasonable - Change my mind
I've researched gold farming for money, and here are my findings:
Example #1: High Population Cataclysm Server (Gehennas EU Horde)
Exchange rate: 1 gold = $0.00064
Average gold farmed per hour: 65g
Earnings per hour: 65g * $0.00064 = $0.0416
Costs
WoW subscription + bot fee: ~$23/month
Monthly cost per hour: $23 / 720 hours = $0.0319
Conclusion
The cost per hour to run one bot, excluding electricity and the initial WoW account purchase, is $0.0319. This calculation raises significant doubts about the profitability of gold farming.
Higher gold rate
Farming 100g / h would net $0.064 per hour. $0.064*11 = $0.704. Not even one dollar for one account's daily work.
Do 100x accounts which will require hours of pretty much a day job, just $70 per day.
Is my math flawed somewhere or perhaps retail has better numbers? Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Seems like 1k gph is doable, that would net $0.64 per hour which is starting to look better.
Don't trust Youtube gold farming videos...

Well, I think you forgot the costs of electricity and the actual computers themselves requiring maintenance over time.
Most of the biggest farmers have access to features like fly hacking and teleporting, so getting into gold farming is not as profitable if you don't have access to those types of things. Also, a lot of these large farm groups have written their own bots, and/or have close connections with the bot developers themselves where they get at a very low cost, and make custom profiles for their specific needs.
Keep in mind, that they buy accounts with gold, so everything is rather self-sufficient if you know exactly what you're doing and what to expect.
These people exploit fast and often and make sure they're on top of all the G/PH trends.

Oh wow, they're that advanced huh. Do you have any idea how one could get into such communities? How much could a fly hacking and TP bot cost?

You don't, unless you're well known and have a long history of farming, and/or you have large sums of money (tens of thousands of dollars).

Are those bots being injected or is it pixel?

Yes.
Nobody that sells gold is only farming 100g per Hour (you get way more Gold just levling a Fresh char to 85).
Even 1k/h is low.
Bots run most of the time 24/7, everything else is waste.
Almost all of the big botters/sellers come from low income places.
Cheaper electricity etc.

No serious botter uses pixel bots for farming, large farms are using Unlockers either privately made in-house or make deals with public unlockers to get private versions made specifically for their needs.

Actually really cool how this works. Are you in contact with anyone regarding this? Just curious

I'm a discouraged 4 day grinding user of Pixelbot with two accounts, one PC same IP. I need to babysit the bot, manually train, get gear, talents, switch profiles every X level.
Earning money through this is harder than I thought.
I'm open for collaboration. I have all the time in the world.
