Savvyx from ragez is currently working on doing a private server for wolf team. He is almost done with it but would like to share any progress and bounce back ideas with other people who share the same goal.
We have created a discord server for a community to get together to help out other people with our knowledge and would love to go back and forth with it!

No offense, but isn't that a waste of time? The game is completely outdated, and no one's going to play more than a round or two. Plus, Softnyx took down the last private server pretty quickly.
Is it even worth it with stats like 4 players online right now, a 24-hour peak of 7 players, and an all-time peak of 114 players from 3.2 years ago? The last time I played WolfTeam after not playing for years, I was literally the only player in the entire game (Wolfteam Reboot - Steam).
Or is there another version available? I couldn’t find anything else.

There's also Softnyx Wolfteam. Since they don't publish any player statistics, I can't say anything about it, though, because, like you, I haven't played Wolfteam in several years.
The idea was not to host my own private server unless there was a demand for it rather to share the source to host one yourself if you wanted to.
The modding aspect seems interesting too here is Kara from the Turkish community importing custom maps:
My old source and mrtats source are still available I didnt share the new one because everyone in the community seemed to have gone private leech code instead of cooperate and what not so I stopped sharing too. There were some great devs part of it tho so kinda sad that's what it turned into. That and I lost interest in the project the moment I saw servers going for pay to win and monetization again the thing that inspired me to get rid of.
The files shared fully work however they just aren't completely polished or user friendly as I had in mind.

I don't mean to sound mean, but the graphics are almost worse than in actual WolfTeam. Maybe we don't even need to set up a private server, we could just host an event where anyone who wants to can join, and then say we'll play without all the cash items. We'd do that once, realize again how bad the game is, and then that would be it for the next few years.

This is actual wolfteam. If you mean the map he made looks worse yeah he just ported it from another game into this one without any optimisations. Still shows how big the maps for that game can be.
Private server is already ready for those who wanna download it.
Theres a couple running that have more active players than official now.
As for running a match with no cash items on the official one no thanks. Even the gold guns got changed on official. If you arent interested in it thats fine. I lost interest too. It just exist for those who still are.
