Both Codecademy and W3Schools have errors and misconceptions in their lessons. Either one could make as a decent learning base though, just don't treat them as your web programming bible. I would personally recommend W3Schools, but I would say W3Schools is more cut and dry, while Codecademy is more "hip" and modern.
