TFT Patch 16.2 Overview New Year, New Meta. RIP T-Hex?
Alright guys, the first real patch of the year is here and Riot didn't hold back. If you've been climbing by forcing Piltover every game, I have bad news for you. The
T-Hex got absolutely gutted. But on the flip side, Emblems are now insane stat sticks, so the flex playstyle is going to be huge.
Here is the breakdown of what matters for your climb in 16.2:
📉 THE NERFS (RIP)
- T-Hex is DEAD: They hit everything. Mana regen cut in half (from 12 to 5 at 3-star), Shield reduced from 20% to 10% HP, and damage falloff increased. It won't one-shot backlines anymore. Don't bait yourself into this unless you highroll like crazy.
- Yasuo / Darkin Scythe: Fixed the bug where the slash could crit/apply on-hit. The freelo train for Yasuo abusers is over.
- AD Carries: Kraken's Fury attack speed halved at max stacks (30% -> 15%). Tryndamere and Yunara also caught stray nerfs.
- Ixtal Cashout: The 10-loss streak reward got nerfed. Less risk/reward now.
📈 THE BUFFS (FREELO?)
- Emblems are BROKEN: This is the biggest change. Emblems aren't just +1 trait anymore; they have serious stats now.
Examples: Freljord Emblem: +400 HP (Actually crazy) Ionia Emblem: +25 AP / +25 AD Void Emblem: +20% AS + 10 AD/AP
Basically, slamming a random emblem on a carry is now better than some actual items.
- Singed: Movespeed buffed from 200 -> 425. He is literally a racecar now. Utility tank Singed might be a sleeper OP.
- Jinx: Complete script rewrite. She should actually function now, plus damage buffs.
- Noxus & Zaun: Big buffs to late game scaling. Noxus 7 HP multiplier went up huge.
SYSTEM CHANGES
- New Encounter: Gwen (6% chance). Gives you a component + Scissors to cut items apart. Useful for fixing bad slam mistakes.
- Prismatic Axiomata: Temporarily removed to be reworked.
- Growth Mindset & Hexgate: Removed permanently (Good riddance).
TL;DR: Stop forcing Dino. Start slamming Emblems on everything. Watch out for Singed running at you at Mach 10 LOL.
