Terraria in school?

Does any1 know how to bypass a school routers firewall? I can curretly play starcraft 2 by playing on the teacher's network, but terraria multiplayer dont seem to work. Shall i use a program like hamachi or a proxy?

I am using a mac pro with windows installed on bootcamp. Is it best to host the server at home or shall i host it on my laptop?

Any help would be appreciated. Sorry for bad english.

I got hamachi installed but the computer cant ping each other. Is there any way to change the ports of hamachi?
