I can use my pc normally with no issues playing (at current date) the most demanding games on ultra high graphic settings. But when I open steam vr or oculus rift vr, my cpu usage goes to 90% and the cpu cooler spikes. (It only does this when I open the vr apps.)
I have rog maximus hero m.b. , intel i7 8700 cpu (non o.c.), 64 gb ram. titan x gpu, and running win 10 ent. edition. pc is connected to 64" 4k tv.
I have tried stopping all non-essential applications when running the vr. I've restarted the pc prior to opening the vr apps. I have re-installed the rift and steam apps numerous times. I've verified the files from steam.Honestly, I do not think it is software related.
I am not receiving any error messages and windows log shows no unusual activity. Virus scans have come up all clear.
(On a side note: Recently within the last two days, my bluetooth mouse freezes for a few seconds ...happens very often now.) I don't know if it's related...but thought any bit of information may help.
