Is 2 IPs really mandatory for vSRO Multi GS? Is there a single static IP solution?
Edit// Is there a guide available for setting up Multi ServerFiles?
I acquired a vSRO database, and upon reviewing it, I noticed that it contains two separate SRO_VT_SHARD databases. The second one is used for events and synchronization systems. Naturally, to make this system work, I need to run two GameServers.
The issue is: I am using MaxiGuard locally and only have a single static IP. I am not renting a VPS/Dedicated server at the moment. However, it is widely believed regarding the Multi GS files circulating that "a separate IP is required for each module." When I attempt to open the second GameServer, I encounter the following error:
cannot create semaphore : module already executing
* Is it truly impossible to run two GameServers with a single IP, or is there a workaround? Would adding secondary local IPs to the network adapter (e.g., 192.168.1.11, .12) and isolating them with ForceBindIP work? Has anyone tested this?
* What exactly causes this semaphore error? I read that the module needs to be cracked, but I'm not entirely sure. Has anyone successfully run multiple modules on a single machine with their existing files?
* I heard that some file sets do not have this multi-IP requirement. Is this due to the files being structured differently, or are the EXEs already pre-patched?
* What do I need to configure on the DB side for two separate shards? Do I need to add a second row in _Shard / _ShardService inside SRO_VT_ACCOUNT and launch a separate ShardManager, or can this be resolved within a single shard using region mapping (_RefRegionBindAssocServer)? I haven't fully grasped the difference between these two approaches.
* Is there anything specific I should keep in mind regarding external connections? I will configure the port forwarding, but I've read a lot about C9 errors, so it would be helpful to know in advance.
The files are based on version 1.188. If anyone with experience can point me in the right direction, I’d greatly appreciate it. I can share screenshots and configs if necessary.
Thanks in advance.
